ABS below 5mph kicks in

Post by thedad »

Hi,

Got a weird one that manifest itself on both of my Passat's after redoing the brake fluid after having to replace the brake calipers.

First the Black Passat got bled, but then as you hit 5mph the ABS would kick in. I re-bled as there was still some air coming through and then it stopped kicking in the ABS at 5mph.

I had to replace the calipers on the Beige Passat and the same thing happened. I re-bled the beige one a number of times and there is no air in the system and yet the ABS still kicks in at 5mph.

I did hook up VCDS and had my son check the wheel speed sensors as we came to a halt and he said they were all showing about the same values as we stopped.

I am now at a loss as to why the issue resolved itself on the black Passat but has not on the beige one!

Anyone seen this before and can suggest a solution?

Regards,
Aidan
