Low end power drop solved 2011 1.6L B7 Diesel Estate Fuel Filter !

I had a power drop at low speed and thought the turbo was on its way out (1.6L Bluemotion 2011 72,600 miles) as you are aware, this is underpowered compared to the 2.0 Litre engine so needs all its got. It started lugging at 1200rpm in 4th gear. My mate works at a VW main dealer & said put a new fuel filter in, hey presto, low end torque improved dramatically and felt like a different car. The old filter was black when I changed it out and my mate told me, "you only have to be unlucky once and fill up at a station with dirty storage tanks and your fuel filter is goosed". I ordered a Mann Fuel Filter 503 44 1109 - PU 8008 -01 and please note, the old part was BLUE, the new part is RED and slightly smaller, but Mann technical department put me right when I enquired about the change in style.
