Seatbelt issues

Hi I wondered if anyone had replaced a seatbelt as my drivers belt sticks on moderately warm days and will not extend once cooled it works fine. I plan to buy a new genuine belt however I am unsure if I will have to have the dealer fit it due to component protection as VCDS can’t get around it ?
