Fake exhausts

So what do people thing about fake exhaust pipes? I started to notice them on some Korean cars like kias then noticed a merc with a few fake rear pipes and a little pipe up and behind the bumper. I was disgusted to see a 2015 Passat on the road yesterday with a fake right hand side tail pipe. Personally I wouldn't buy a car with a fake pipe just there to look good. Horrible.
