on going dillema at wits end!!!

Post by sjpope78 »

So some of you may have seen ive posted a couple f times on here regarding throttle body issues, egr issues, engine managment light and coil light on problems!!!

had to change the throttle body on my 2.0 tdi pd engine last summer due to it being knackered, blocked up etc valve wouldnt open and shut blew the fan fuse blah blah blah pretty common fault, yes i know, so fixed that all is good with the car for a while, then every so often coil light and engine management light would come on when starting but off pretty much after revvinng the engine. checked no codes

Spoke to my mechanic he says it could be a dodgy earth/wiring issue, had that rested all is good

Then over xmas car wouldnt start warning lights every where like a blining xmas tree, turns out needed a new battery so changed that checkled for codes in memory on vcd's etc all clear

Then final nail in coffin went out to start it the other day wouldnt start got my mechanic to toe it to his garage, who then got hos diesel specialist to look, says it prob the egr valve sticking and the flaps in the inlet manifold may have stuck shut not letting air into the engine, bought an egr valve from euro's £130, got my mechanic to strip the egr out took the inlet manifold off.

firstly there are no flaps in the inlet manifold it was just a bit sooty so cleaned it nothing wrong with the egr valve so what the hell is wrong with the bloody car, My mechanic thinks it could be that the throttle body may be faulty but we wont know that until it wont start again and he can check to see if the valve is stuck shut, i have a family, 1 of which is only 5 wks old how can i rely on a car that mite not bloody start....

Im getting sick of it, ive owned vw's for years and this is by far the worst 1 ive owned for warning lights, dont get me wrong it drives lovely pulls like a train good on fuel etc but i now know what people mean when they say the PD engine is shi***, i wont buy VW again, ill only ever do a pcp purely due to giving it back if it goes wrong!!!!
