bubble has burst... help..!!

Dreaded epb has give up on the o/s, tried new (genuine) switch, to no avail, tested both plugs at the motor end and i have feed to both. The brake still works off the foot pedal, so i reckon the motor has gone. £170 from GSF, Question is will the new one need coding, vcds or whatever, and if so could anyone help me with that part ??
