B6 SEL or CR

Hi Guys,

I am looking to get a 2008 onwards Passat B6 estate. Probably a 2.0ltr Sport DSG 170.

I've read that the pre 2008 engines had all manor of issues, but I see some using the following prefix in the model name.

SEL
CR
DPF

I understand the DPF bit, but the SEL and CR i'm not sure. Which is the best combo to go with?
