Ok I've been looking for a replacement for my Bora for a while and after much procrastination I think I've settled on a B6 Passat.
I viewed a 2009 Highline estate today it's done 135k but it's backed up with a massive VAG service history. Unfortunately I couldn't drive it due to it suffering from an immobiliser fault that the dealer is obviously sorting.
However my worry is the engine, the V5 has the engine as 105 bhp. After doing some googling I've confused myself! Some say the 105 engine only came up to SE spec others say it was discontinued in 2006! It appears this is the older 1.9 engine?
I intend to tow a 1400 kg caravan with the car (is that accepted round these parts
)So don't want it to be underpowered. Although I'd consider a cheeky remap.
