How to make working range of clutch pedal longer?

Hello!
Working range of my clutch pedal is 1/10 of total range. 9/10 of the total range is idle in my VW Passat B6 6-gear 2007 79t.km. This makes bitting of the clutch too abrupt. How to increase the working range?
