Gearbox codes

Does anyone know what gearbox codes are a straight swap?
Researching there are a few gearboxes that share the same bell housing, but i beleive there are different size mainshaft sizes?
I've tried to use the search engine on here but 3 letters (aka gearbox code) is excluded from the search as its too short to search for! annoying!
