Front end knock

My b6 has developed a front end knock on the passenger side. I've had all drop links replaced, its still there.
Its a bit of a strange one, going over speed bumps doesn't cause any noise. Any gradual lumps in the road and its fine.
The main issue is when the front hits a very rough section of road, like a sunken manhole, small pot holes or when the suspension has to work under high frequency or gets a sudden jolt. I don't get any noise on the drivers side, nor can I feel anything thru the steering.
I was thinking of play in a bottom ball joint or something?
