Prognosis isn't good. They don't have VW specific diagnostic equipment but were able to establish it is an injector issue. Only one is down but they are unable to determine which one. Could possibly be the injector loom.
Now, I'm vaguely aware

Now bearing in mind the old girl is 9 years old and has 95K on her, (Still in very good condition though) and assuming the recall has expired, what are my options? I'm good with motors but electronic systems used in modern cars leaves me with a very numb feeling. So could some kind soul answer the following questions? Apologies if they've been asked before. I did a brief search but couldn't find anything up to date and/or definitive. Here goes.
1/ Are the injectors serviceable by specialists?
2/ Are re-manufactured injectors an option?
3/ Are second hand injectors a viable proposition provided they're not of the same batch numbers?
4/ Do these injectors need coding to the ECU?
Thank you in advance.
Martin.
