Welcome to
this months newsletter.
What a scorcher!! Fingers
crossed this weather keeps going. Of course the offset of this will be the
inevitable drought and subsequent hose pipe ban.
Well what did March
bring? Apart from one of the most creative touches on a Passat I have every
seen, yes I am talking about Panel Beater Peter and his B3. Click on the
picture above to check it out in full. I finally got Boo Boo built back up.
Those of you not familiar with Boo Boo (why would you be?) he is my
lowrider bike to partner my car, Yogi. It started life as a £5 eBay
purchase, and has been stripped, painted, pin striped and polished to bring
it up to its current state....
The excellent striping
was done by the same artist who did my cars fuel flap - Psycho Slacker.
This guy will stripe pretty much anything! Check out his awesome skills on
his recently updated website - HERE
March saw UK Passats leap
frog to over 7,000 members! We also had a Q&A feature in Golf+ magazine

Ultimate Dubs, the
unofficial start to the dub show calendar, took place on the 13th March.
From the pictures I have seen, it looks like there have been some very busy
beavers over the winter months. A certain B6 on air, now sporting a Bentley
interior and rolling on 17's, chose Ultimate Dubs to make its debut. I
think this year we are finally going to see Passat's picking up trophies at
the 'bigger' shows. The UK Passat stand seemed to be a little shy, even
after more people wanted to be on the stand than places. Bad by you!

With only 35 sleeps left
until my first show of the year - All Types. I am one
excited middle aged bloke! This month will see the house yet again fill
with our camping paraphernalia, ready for our first camp of the year. If
you are free that weekend, or even just the Sunday, you really should come
along. It is a really laid back affair, with a good mix of new and old
school. All for £12 for the whole weekend!
Before All Types though,
there is a one day show, which has been a favorite on many Dubbers list for
many years. Elsecar Mega Meet. This is a great chance for you check out
some local metal, and also catch up with old friends. UK Passats will have
a club stand there, and all are welcome to join in. Standard or highly
modified, as long as your car is a B platform, your in!!!
Well that is enough from
me; as the sun is shining out there, and the BBQ isn't gonna light itself.
I hope you all have a great month, and make the most of all those lovely
bank holidays we have got coming up!
