yet another tdi power problem
Until there was any means of cleaning out the exhaust housing on a VNT turbo, and unsticking the vanes, a new turbo would have been needed yes... As it is, the clever guys at Innotec (and they are clever guys, Jim the guy that owns innotec UK really knows his stuff!) came up with a cut price solutio...

yet another tdi power problem
Peugeot HDi will introduce you to a whole new world of woes! VAG TDi's have their faults, but they're mostly easy to fix... Sounds to me like your engine is going into limp mode. Get the car hooked up to a VAGCOM to get any fault codes checked... If it comes up with something like "00575 interm...

VAGCOM Cheltenham/Gloucestershire area
Does this apply to people who used to own a Passat but had to buy an Audi as the Passat died too?
In worcester myself by the way, but get down to Cheltenham quite a bit...

veg oil and cruise control
The PD unit injectors dont like running on veg oil from what I've heard. Get on the veg/biodiesel forums and ask the question but the pressure in the PD injectors is too high for veg oil. Apparently they run alright if you've converted your veg oil to biodiesel though (using the transetrification *s...

Re: THE 312mm Carriers thread !!
Will 312mm discs fit under OEM 16" wheels off an Audi A4 sport? 5 spoke ones off an X plate B5 that is... Or has it got to be 17's or larger?

Re: 99T Passat TDi Engine (AFN) Seized... What caused it?
Well took the glowplugs out, and... One of them is bent! I'm guessing if a glowplug is bent, then something pretty nasty has happened to seize the engine... Anyway, sadly my immaculate Passat is going to be broken! Will post an ad in the classifieds now, but this really pains me as it'd cost me more...

Re: 99T Passat TDi Engine (AFN) Seized... What caused it?
Cheers again, will make sure to take the rocker cover off and have a good look. If the engine is terminal, think I'm gonna have to break the car for defo. I know it's worth a hell of a lot more than £400 in parts for sure... The 17's off a V6 model (7 spokes) with good tyres are probably worth £25...

Re: 99T Passat TDi Engine (AFN) Seized... What caused it?
To be fair, when I said it hadn't lost a drop of oil, I can't quantify that exactly, but there's still plenty in the sump. Is it worth taking out the glow plugs, getting a syringe with a bit of pipe attached on it down into the cylinders, and sucking out whatever I can? The way the engine went was a...

Re: 99T Passat TDi Engine (AFN) Seized... What caused it?
Cheers dirtyduncs, I'd not thought of that! Makes sense though... There's plenty of oil in it, it didn't lose a drop and I keep the oil topped up once every 1000 miles or so. Like you say, I've got nothing to lose! Just hope the injector stays put when I reattach it (if it even goes back in that is)...

99T Passat TDi Engine (AFN) Seized... What caused it?
Hi guys Was just about to join this forum anyway, but just before I did, my Passat engine seized! I've only had the car a couple of months, bought off a guy who also uses this forum. The car is a 99T Passat Estate 110 TDi with an AFN engine, it has done 129,500 miles, has a full service history, LOA...
