I had the same thing, but it turned out to be the tracking was out so obviously the angle of the steering wheel didnt co-inside with the way the wheel was facing.

I could be wrong here, but have you tried whilst booting it to make the gear changes a little slower?

Like if by the time youve taken your super fast feet off the throttle then slammed on the clutch it might not of had time to react to the no throttle.

Do insurance companies even test for things like a remap should the worst happen?

It all depends on how deep the scratches are, if they are "so" deep, even machine polishing wont remove them, Its all just entirely dependant on how deep the scratches are.

Are you doing a 2 stage machine polish with an abrasive polish then a not so abrasive polish?

I believe in the 2003 onwards you have to have the EGR mapped out its not as simple as turning it off in vag com. You can reduce the amount it "recycles" but not disable it.

You need to get the cable and a program called motordiag. Just do a search on the forum for motordiag and you'll find the post's

No a guy in Barnsley did it for me.

The dealers no doubt would do it, but it wont be worth the money they will charge just to plug it in.
