unrealistic gains?
i've been emailing companies about remapping. I know companies may have a tendency to overdo the gains achieved but I asked a well known company what I can expect from a b5 TDI PD 100 on a remap. i got a reply from one company The 1.9 TDi engines we can take from 100bhp up to 150bhp and from 177lbft...

I think the new door card is the way to go.
going to rip door card off and attempt a alcantara upholstery, if it works out well, or doesnt look doable in an afternoon for all 4 doors, ill source a grey cloth card.
cheers all.

Okay, so when i got the car i only got given the valet key. which has its problems. does anybody know what it costs to get a new key (set of keys) cut and programmed for a b5 passat and where would be best to do it. central air vent broken.
hi all
the slats on my central air vent are broken on my b5.5. I'm pretty sure they are unfixable so a replacement is needed. Anybody done this before? Easy job? Or is it one where ill have to take huge swathes of plastic off?

there is no radio part to the key. its a basic, old fashioned valet style key.
anybody know what VW would charge to cut an reprogramme a new key?
