Got almost all of the parts I was after. Question I have is as follows though. Has anyone painted their bumpers on their B2'S? Mine have went more grey than the darker colours some seem to be. I prefer the darker look. What do people put on their bumpers to darken them or do they have them painted ...

Sounds to me like the central locking or alarm's lost its mind. I'd go see an auto electrician if I were you, electrical gremlins need eyeballs on them, not keyboards.

The teardrop alloys really suit your B2, nice one.

Have you checked your CVs and wheel bearings?

Try http://www.germanautoparts.com and check under Dasher for the linkage parts. For bushes, search under VW Fox on Ebay, and there are kits that pop up from time to time.

I had one B1 that someone had converted with a Mk2 Jetta's TDi motor. Worked very well before we pulled the car apart.

Cables wise you'll need to make a custom one. I did the same for my car in order to make the discs work. I took the cables from a late Audi A4 and customised it to fit.

Are the people ok with being published; have they signed releases?

Sorry guys for the late reply. I thought I posted couple of days ago but I don't se it so here goes again. Vr6 would be nice but I want the mpg of a TDi. The purpose of this exercise is to have an old runabout for commuting to work thats gives good mpg while availing of the 56 euro classic road tax...

You could always get some custom cables made, it's not impossible I had to make one for my car when doing the rear discs as the B1's all came with drum brakes. The handbrake cable wouldn't fit so I adapted cables from a late model Audi A4.

Absolutely There's an adhesive in a can that's just for it, you can probably pick it up at Halfords or body shops there. It does a great job of resticking the lining. Just follow the instructions on the can.

Good cameras aren't cheap, unfortunately. Nor is someone's creativity. But you don't need to submit professional photos (and if you do, the photographer needs to confirm it's ok to publish the shots), borrow a camera from a friend and snap shots!
