Nice wind deflectors Rob
I spent the money on some Amber indicators, so I may have to start a build thread soon

Re: Replacement key
Is it possible to get a key cut just to get you into the car, I'm paranoid about my key getting locked inside so want a key (not worried about starting the car) just to get me in.
Is it just a case of getting a blade cut?

What oil??
Hi All,
What sort of oil should I be using for my B5 1.9 tdi 110, I've seen quantum mentioned but is this just for PD's.
Help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ed

I think the answers you get on here are going to be a little biased!!
I'd go for the passat, having owned both VW and Ford, VW wins hands down.

I love this show, I love the way the host (can't remember his name) always says 'we've done this' and 'we've done that' when in fact all he's done is gone out and bought a car.

Top Cashback
Just wondering if anyone else uses this site. Basically, you link through their website to your normal sites, Amazon, Play, eBay etc, and for each transaction you earn a % cashback. I've used it for a couple of months now, and have received some cashback already, with more to come. Granted, the payo...

Looks really nice mate, are they just the 55/40 springs??? If so, I like that drop and I'll have to get some for my oil burner.

All the lenses are plastic as far as I know, mine certainly is and they came up really well when I did mine.
It's a really easy satisfying job, only take half an hour or so.
Good luck

I do most of my miles round town and I still easily achieve 40+mpg, get it hooked up to VAG-Com mate, that should throw up any issues.

Thats the challenge, I haven't taken one apart so not sure if it's possible, maybe a case of butchering the door card and getting another from a breakers or something.

Re: B5 door issue.
Hmm, well I can't imagine a door could just seize up, so I would think it could only be a problem with the locking mech, probably need to strip the door down from the inside and see if you can manually unlock the door (don't know if this is possible or not) then change the locking mech.

Re: 300BHP Passat
Dont get me wrong guys, I think that much power is stupid in a passat, I was just using it as an example.
Your best off tuning a pd130 to stage 2 revo (max)and leaving it at that I think, although as said, the 1.8t tunes pretty well.

Re: My headlight clean up....
Sorry to raise a thread from the dead, but if your doing this by hand youll need a polish with a good cutting compound, halfords to G3 stuff for about £8 which should do it.
I'm doing mine later so I'll post some pics.

I have two main gripes at the moment. 1 - People who religiously stick to the speed limit, ie 20mph, then break every other rule in the book by driving over the white hashes, pulling up at lights and parking in the little cycle bit etc. If your going to stick to the rules, then stick to them all ple...

My arial base was knackered when I brought my B5, my local friendly breakers and £3 later and I had one off a 2003 Golf.
I'd check the breakers first mate, save yourself a fortune.
