Re: brake bleeding problems

All sorted, borrowed the pressure bleeder from work set it at just under 2 bar and worked my way round. A tiny bit of air from the rears and a poo load from the fronts, so much so the bleed pipe was spitting lol.

brake bleeding problems

I replaced the rear caliper seals on drivers side today and changed the pads at the same time. The caliper that had the seals lost all its fluid and whilst i tried to stop the fluid being lost from the brake flexi i still lost lots. the caliper that had the seals replaced seems to be closing on the ...

Re: Surely not my alternator pulley again

Think i found the problem. The duct that comes from behind the grill to the air box is vibrating where it sits onto the airbox. happy days if thats that sorted, not holding my breath though as not usually that lucky lol

Re: Surely not my alternator pulley again

I've checked the fan inside the alternator and it turns clock wise but not anti clock wise so I'm guessing it's fine, I slackened off the belt tensioner and there is very slight play in the pulley. I may have to wait for it to get more obvious. Is the pulley available on its own or a complete piece ...

Surely not my alternator pulley again

i replaced this around 2 1/2 years ago and used a genuine vw part. i also replaced the belt tensioner at the same time. I'm pretty sure the pulley has gone again. the steering don't quite feel right sometimes when parking and when you rev the engine there is a noise coming from that area. I'm pretty...

Anyone recommend a decat pipe for sport 130

i thinking of replacing my front pipe with the flexi on it as it has split an leaking etc. I'll probably replace it with a decat pipe. Has anyone done this lately and can recommend one that's reasonably cheap. I've seen a few but a lot state the 90bhp model

Re: A.C problems - mine are well documented i know but

I have a prob with mine, luckily we have aircon facilities at work. After mine has been filled it only last around 2 days. So we did a sniffer test. Its a bit of kit that picks up leaks anywhere. You just follow the pipes etc with it untill it bleeps like mad. Mine has a leak on the low pressure pip...

Aircon prob

Had the aircon refilled on my b5.5 and the air blows nice and cold however it only lasts about 2 days. After running the car and switching off i can hear an air leaking noise coming from bulkhead area behind all plastic trims. Could this be anything other than i split hose? Pretty sure the hose is o...

My tdi sport 130 has already been remapped, however im thinking of fitting a de-cat pipe. Will this need remapping again or should it be fine.
Also has anyone done this and will it make much difference with regards to power?

Re: Ignition problem, help please

Have a search for "steering column fault" on here mate.... Very common. Used to be very expensive to repair £1k at VW, but they've got the price down to around £300 now I think. Or do what I did and go to Northampton and visit the polish guy that advertises on eBay, cost me £150. That'...

Ignition problem, help please

For some reason sometimes when i push the key into the dash it will not recognize it. when you insert it, it releases steering lock then nothing. It may do this up to 10 time before eventually it works. Any ideas?
