Re: fog lights b6 2008 Hi- line
VW dealer won't touch any secondhand or even brand new parts bought anywhere else than them. To set it up as you want electrician would need VCDS or similar program. As said I have done all that and a lot more on mine and have genuine VCDS if you decide to do it I can fit and code it for you. I am s...

Re: fog lights b6 2008 Hi- line
I'm in Cambridge so about 40 miles from you and I done that on mine so can help. Wiring is a harness which I can make on genuine parts. Switch can be second hand from eBay. CECM is a box that control all the electrics in the car - this can also be bought secondhand on eBay (need to be specific part ...

Wiring, switch and CECM (or relay if you don't want to change cecm but that won't work as from factory)

Re: Help! ABS and ESP Lights are on after battery change
The OP said codes already had been read and nothing was showing up.... Impossible with those two faults... However it might not show on NOT VW specific fault readers. In example AA didn't find anything when my injector died and my vcds at home showed fault specific to faulty injectors. Chance the a...

Re: Help! ABS and ESP Lights are on after battery change
Lights on the dash means that you have fault codes stored in the ecu. Get someone with vcds to scan it and tell you what are the codes. Normally those lights go off after about 50m drive it they didn't you must have a fault that accidentally came up when the battery was disconnected. Or it might be ...

Re: cluster upgrade query
Minimum canbus gateway E, clocks don't require any coding unless options in previous car weren't set to standard (or the car outline as said above). However when I installed rns510 I needed to change communication system in RNS to enable communication with white clocks - not sure if rcd has same opt...

Re: Afs fault
Well give it a go then you will know for sure ;) Headlight might look different but I'm pretty sure they work in the same way (as in using h7 bulbs for cornering). Easiest way to check if it is this is to start the car, put light on check how they look with wheels pointing straight then turn wheels ...

If it is like b6 then it is H7 bulb in the headlight that needs changing.

Re: B6 suspension type.
There is few options and the way how to check. All depends on the spec of your car so it would be a good idea to indicate which model is it? S, SE, SEL, Sport, highline etc then going from there you can find out what were the options for suspension on said model. Best idea would be to decode the bui...

Re: Front Suspension Knock
i went for the b7 rack as i found one for 80£ from a passat with 50k. changed the inner tie roads for brand new ones and no problems ever since. Exactly B7 rack can be found with lower miles and at good price. However I think it needs to be mentioned that B7 rack requires rewiring and new plug. Sen...

Front Suspension Knock
One way to check is get under the car and have a good poke at the inner rods coming out of the rack. If you hit them from top or bottom you should get your culprit noise. B7 rack is a more advance electronically so for me it opens more options for further upgrades. For someone who just want to fix t...

Jarek's B6 Wagon - Still going...
Next step was to upgrade ABS pump as it was to old for new steering lock. So I picked up a late 2010 ABS pump and decided to fit it myself - so ended up with few problems but overall all sorted now :esm Coding was a bit of a shot in the dark but all sorted and no faults present. As I was on ABS I th...

Re: Jarek's B6 Wagon - Still going...
Just thought I would update that old thread a bit.... so lets start with CCM module that was updated from B6 3C0 part number to B7 with 3AA part number - this was to enable me to use B7 canbus gateway with extended can protocol and still have fully functional steering lock. http://i46.photobucket.co...

Not quite. I am fitting DCC suspension as a next step but in two minds about using Eibach with it or stock springs.
