Ahh yea now I think about it, I was investigating a faulty injector a few weeks ago and I paid attention to the engine temperature and it was a steady climb up to 90° so that rules out the cts.

Re: Mpg too low...
Gaz car is getting a remap soon, pd115 injectors are good for 170bhp so I'm gonna try for about 160bhp. Hotchef not sure if air is getting in how would I know? This is the first time it's happened. Goblin there are no fault codes for cts would there always be a code? Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapa...

Mpg too low...
Bit of advice needed please, I have a b5 tdi estate and struggle to get over 39mpg! The car is new to me and I bought it with a blown turbo, it's a pd115 and I fitted a pd130 turbo to it, also I have fitted a darkside egr delete apart from that it is totally standard. The rear drivers side brake bin...

Re: Changing PD injectors
This helped me out today mate. Changed injector 3 due to a misfire on my pd115, Unfortunately didn't have the money to replace the bolts on the rocker or the injector fastener but they tightened back up to spec. Car is running much better now so thank you for such a good write up Karl. Sent from my ...

AJM and ATJ differences?
Got my new (to me) passat wagon today, was told by previous owner it was an ajm engine, on the boot sticker it's actually an atj engine which is still a pd115 afaik but is it exactly the same? The turbo has blown and I have bought a pd130 turbo to upgrade it with, are all the internals exactly the s...

Re: Turbo upgrade
Awesome thanks, I just hope this one is mappable via obd, the b5 I have now can only be chipped lol.

Re: Turbo upgrade
That sounds good to me, I'll just get the 130 turbo and outlet then. Do you have any idea on the mapping side of things? Would I be able to get a generic map as though it was a 130 and I was going to stage 1 or would I just be better getting it custom mapped? Tha ks for the help as always Karl :-) S...

Re: Turbo upgrade
I see this is an old thread but can I bump this as I'm potentially gonna be getting an ajm engined estate (which I believe is 115bhp), the turbo is knackered so which turbo am I best fitting as I will probably want some more power out of it. Do I need pd130 injectors or are there better injectors to...

Tuning chip problem, help needed!
Car is a 99 b5 1.8t with k04 upgrade and bam injectors amongst other upgrades. Been having a hot start issue for a while (changed cts and crank sensor) so I assumed it was the ecu (also got rom error fault code). My ecu is chipped as it's too old to be mapped by obd so the new (used) ecu I got was s...

Re: K04-015 1.8t upgrade
I have k04, fmic, bam injectors, ss decat, carbon air filter and digital boost controller, mine is a b5 aeb engine and it's pretty damn silly with the boost turned up haha it does run really rich tho. Anyone know what sort of power mine should be putting out?

It never even worked. Obviously a bad socket as no chips worked in the new ecu but both worked in the old ecu

Question about an ecu
I have a b5 1.8t and have bought a used ecu to replace my faulty one. My original ecu has been chipped (actual chip as it's too old for obd flash) so I discussed the work with a tuner and they told me they can solder me a new socket onto my new ecu so I can just swap the chip over, I've just receive...

Re: New ecu fitted - won't start (not immob)
I didn't think so either but so one told me it would at least start lol I thought I would try it cos I just wanted to make sure changing the ecu solved my hot starting issue before I fork out to get my chip swapped over from the old ecu, only reason I got that ecu was cos it came with a 90 day warra...

Re: New ecu fitted - won't start (not immob)
Does that sound about right cos I was initially thinking it was a problem around fuelling hence the strong smell of petrol when I crank it

Re: New ecu fitted - won't start (not immob)
Oh balls... A few have said it sounds like the bigger injectors causing problems with starting cos the ecu is fuelling enough for a standard map so with bigger injectors it will be pissing it in lol...

New ecu fitted - won't start (not immob)
Me again... before i start the cae is a 1.8t aeb engine b5 I swapped my faulty ecu (hot start fault and error code: internal rom error) for a used one I bought, coded the immob and tried to start it, kept cranking but didn't wanna fire up and after 10 secs of cranking oil warning light came on, turn...
