Re: FEW PICS OF OUR RIDE
I think the problem is the lights are 'too' yellow! they would be cool if just a bit less. Like the wheels and the paint colour.

Re: Where else should I look to find my passat sport?
We are in exactly the same boat dude. Looking for the same spec, though mileage is less of an issue for us. Looking for grey, black or brown. Started looking at silver ones now. Went to look at one the other week. Sounded promising, until we saw it! The advert stated 130k 12 months MOT blah blah bla...

Re: TDI 110 vs TDI 130 Reliability
Only got that after a remap and playing the mpg game with the mfa. Saying that; I have done some seriously big trips on low fuel costs. Return journey from Albania was 2,000 miles on 180 quid. Austria, 1,000 miles, 95 quid each way. I'd have another 110 afn engine all day but the mrs is saying we ne...

Best I had from mine was 74mpg on the MFA. Of course, you can't swear by that but it sure sounds impressive.

Engine setup is the wrong way. Might be better with the engine and box from a golf.

The ferries to Dunkirk are cheaper. You get a bit of rest too. Love driving up the big ramps then the drive off. Makes me feel like I'm in thunderbirds or something. Lol!

I nearly got my clutch changed in Poznan at the Vw main dealers. It would have cost me £100 including parts.

Took mine to Albania and back. That's the furthest.
Been to Le Mans, Nontron Poland and Austria too. All separate journeys.
You can't beat travelling abroad and the Passat really is one of the best cars for doing it in. Jut eats up the miles.

It looks like you might have a pump and turbo on its last legs... I would scan the car again and post the codes found on the forum. Its not nice to sell a car like that to a fellow forum member... Where abouts are you based ? As a note: I have never sold an unreliable car to anyone. As Luke will, h...

There's nothing like being there and helping out.
If anyone wants to come and visit, you are more than welcome. You will find it's one of the most amazing places you can ever see.

Re: What I've been up to
This is helping a family. The man is dying. Alcoholism and other problems. Rain was running on to him in his bed and he was covered in flies. He can't afford to go to the hospital. So we just cleaned up as best we could and tried to give him some dignity. You cannot imagine how bad this place is. The...

Re: What I've been up to.
One of the worst situations about Albania is an ancient law called Gjakmarre, or blood feud. The principle is if a man is killed, or just offended, by another man, the either he or his family can take revenge on the family and kill any male they choose. As a result the revengers usually choose the y...

Re: What I've been up to.
Within a week of cleaning the poo from that channel it was getting filled again. Pollution is rife. We were pulling cow bones from it along with everything else. We also found out that the local slaughter house was pumping blood and faeces directly in to this canal we'd been working in. This runs do...

Re: What I've been up to.
As well as education, we also work in the communities helping families and the local commune. One of the biggest problems is the rubbish. In Albania there is no proper refuse service, so people dump their rubbish where ever they want. As a lot of the area in the north is old, communist agricultural ...

What I've been up to. *Some strong photos so be aware
Some of you have asked me what I've been up to in Albania and a couple told me to put some pics up. I'm not very good at writing this stuff, so if it's boring, I apologise. Basically, I moved to Albania to work in youth centre run by Swiss and German nuns. I'm in no way religious but what these peop...
