A Belated Hello All!

Have been registered on here for a little bit already, but not actually posted in here to introduce myself - and seeing as my good friend Ian aka 'captain' has just registered too, I thought I should follow suite. I'm a 30 year old graphic designer, living in between Hull & Grimsby at the mo. Be...

how much are the Philips H7 X-Tremes?

i was surprised that VW were still building cars with poo headlights!
i mean - my '64 splitty is bad enough, and I've had an '89 scirocco and a '91 corrado and both cars had rubbish headlights - I kinda hoped VW would have sorted it by 1999!

I reckon part of the reason for a drop in mpg over winter is the fact that you're more likely to be driving with lights on in the morning and evening due to shorter days, using your heaters to keep warm and rear screen heater to de-mist which both sap a certain amount of power. A lot of people leave...

VAG COM / Code Reader solutions wanted

I've decided I could really do with VAG COM so I can read and reset codes myself - two of my mates have just bought Passats too, so would help them out too. Problem is, I've no idea whats best to buy. I've seen the Draper code readers on e-bay, but it doesn't mention anything about covering diesel m...

mine's the same -
it buzzes for low washer fluid (nearly filled my pants the first time that happened!), buzzes for low fuel, but not for service or frost and not for lights left on!

play them off against each other - that's the best way - ring another company - tell them what you've been quoted (ie. lie and say whatever figure you were paying last year). wait for them to come back and give a lower price. if they can't beat it then go back to your current insurers - and lie to t...

Think yourself lucky they were decent enough to stop and leave their details - the man/woman/twohat that hit my car (a mere week after buying it!!  ) went down the entire side of the car - from back of the front arch, dinted the pass door, dinged the rear passenger door, creased the rea...

ARGH! Glow plug light flashing

Driving to work down the motorway this morning and the glow plug light started flashing. Duly filled my pants and slowed down - sure enough as soon as I slow down the light goes off. Set off again and over about 70mph it came back on again. As soon as I braked to slow down again it'd go off. Had a l...

I'd recommend blackcircles too - if you go through their website to get an insurance quote they send you a discount voucher/e-mail to claim against new tyres.

HELP!! Brake Lights Out!

Just noticed this morning on arriving to work that my brake lights weren't working. Checked the obvious - bulbs and fuses - both fine (the rear lights still light up when my headlights are on) - so I'm figuring its the brake light switch or does anyone have any other suggestions? - I had a look in H...
