anyone able to recommend somewhere to get proper tints done in East or West Yorkshire- I'd like my silver saloon doing with 50-60% black - both front & back / rear windows. Don't want it to look like rubbish film with air bubbles etc!!
Also how much does it cost?

You're right - the Passat didn't get common rail fuel technology til the B6 I think - with piezoelectrickery etc. The PD (pump injection) system used on the B5.5's was an effort to increase the output and accuracy of the fuel injection to that of a similar level to Common Rail technology. The B5 eng...

yeah - don't pay over £25 for the Sony one - at least that's what I paid for mine from ebay. Only went for that one as I have a Sony HU n figured it'd be more reliable a connection between the two.

yep - totally normal - even tells you about it in the drivers manual - the guy I bought my 'ssat off went out and bought a new mirror switch thinking the one on the car was busted. He'd tried fitting it and obviously did the same thing so he thought it was a problem with the wiring - thankfully that...

I've got an electric polisher but mine's black & decker. very good and much easier than elbow grease! just make sure you don't concentrate on one area for too long as you can easily 'burn' the paint finish/lacquer.

checked with neighbours etc. but most of the houses are well set back from the street so no luck.
I usually park the car on the drive as its long enough to park 4 cars on, but left it out on the street as the mrs needed her car out first early in the morning

Insurance Claim

Some little fcuker has driven into the side of my car whilst it was parked outside my house!! They've managed to go down nearly the entire length of the car - putting a dent in both passenger side doors, scuffed the rear arch and pulled the rear bumper away. I've given it a good T-Cut to remove as m...

yeah I disconnected the battery etc. before I started removing stuff. will it not matter then if I remove the steering wheel again and remove and reconnect all the connections etc - will the light still come on? I'm in Hull or Leeds at weekends and in Grimsby during the week if anyone has a VAGCOM t...

airbag light on after wheel removal

just removed the steering wheel on my B5 to change the wiper stalk back to the correct wiper/MFA type stalk. Sorted that out and replaced the steering wheel, torqued up the bolt and reconnected the airbag, then hooked up the battery again - only now the airbag light comes straight back on again afte...

feel quite (irritatingly) smug now that I bought my ssat with full black leather interior - didn't realise how much they went for. really wanted the cream leather interior, but seems to be pretty rare.

iPod in B5 armrest

Fitted my Sony headunit into my 'ssat at the weekend along with the iPod adaptor that allows the headunit to control the iPod from the headunit. It uses the Sony XA 110iP - so if your Sony headunit is older than 2006 range or doesn't have an AUX input etc. and you don't want wires hanging out the fr...

Steering Wheel Spline Tool?

Where can I get the splined tool from to remove the steering wheel bolt?
Tried Halfords and local motor factors, but no-one seems to do one the right size? Someone off here told me I need an M21 splined bit (is it a Torx bolt?)

Changing MFA/Wiper Stalk?

Anyone know how easy it is to change the MFA / Wiper stalk?
The MFA switch on the stalk is knackered on mine, so got a new one - just wondered if I'm gonna need to remove the steering wheel etc.

Coilover Recommendations...

Hello all (newbie alert!) :) Have just bought myself a '98 TDi 110 Sport in silver with full black leather interior and am wanting to get some coilovers for it to get her down in the weeds nicely. So what do people recommend - bearing in mind its going to be my daily hack for work, I'd still like it...
