Re: Cheapest place to buy car battery ?
Am i right in thinking that 'ah' is the capacity of the battery and how long it takes to discharge when not been driving and cca is the power it injects to start the car up. If so how much is the minimum a car of 2.7tdi needs to start up in cold weather ?

Re: Cheapest place to buy car battery ?
Avoid Lion , will a 110 fit ? Then you could have 800 CCA and 80 Ah . 5 year batteries have both better materials and the higher specs . *no swearing* me you've asked 3 forums ! I currently have a Varta 110. 80ah 740ah which i fitted some years ago. Am pretty sure the previous battery was a lower s...

Cheapest place to buy car battery ?
I have a 2007 Audi A4 B7 2.7Tdi that needs a new battery. Am only planning to keep the car until autumn so i want to spend the least amount as possible. Can you recommend the cheapest place to get a battery that will just do. So far I've seen Tayna Batteries for £80 which is a Euroline 78Ah 740CCA B...

Recommend a battery charger
Can anyone recommend an inexpensive battery charger for a 80ah battery.
Am not looking for a powerful charger so Budget £20-£30.
It'll be handy to have around.

Thinking of doing a big euro road trip
Am toying with the idea of buying a cheap car and doing a 10-15k mile road trip around Europe even into Turkey and Russia. Am just thinking if the car breaks down and beyond repair what could I do ? Something like that would really wee me off and I'd end up dumpling the car or just sell it there for...

Re: Will this pass my MOT ?
Well i asked both testers at my m8's garage this morning but still no answer as one said no it would fail and the other said he would pass it. Sorry. Many thanks. I went to the breakers yard today and got a whole set of the non LED version and fitted those. Although I've left the LED version that's...

Re: Will this pass my MOT ?
I'll be speaking to the mot guy on Monday.
Does anyone know if they do a full inspection mot again if I take it back within 10 days for a retest or will they just check over the things it failed on ?

That is a good one. I was a tester for many years but never came across anything like this but if the light is fully functional i can't see why it would be a fail. Have all the LED's failed on the old light ?. Only 3 LEDs work out of 13 Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk 7 would have passed. I go...

Re: Will this pass my MOT ?
From what I can remember there isn't anything about how the light is produced just that it has to be red and same position on the car. If you have the original lights why not stick them both back on save any bother Don't have originals. One of the previous owners must have upgraded them. Sent from ...

Will this pass my MOT ?
Took my 2006 Audi A4 for an MOT today and failed on tail light bulbs. Seems like I have an aftermarket LED cluster which you can't replace the individual LEDs as they're soldered onto the ribbon. I can't find a matching used one so the other option is a new pair at £200. Would you know if I put in a...

How to stop battery going flat when car not in use ?
I have a car that is only used about every 2 months. Is there a way to stop the battery going flat ? recoomnend a car battery charger
Anyone got any recommendations for a car battery charger for a 80amp battery ?
Looking for something under £20. I know something of that cost will probably take around 24hrs to charge from flat.

Owning two cars - insurance
I currently have a Audi a4 estate which i recently insured 2 months ago with Admiral as they were the cheapest. I want to get a cheap small car, something like a VW golf for local miles. How would the insurance work ? do i need to take out another separate insurance policy with zero NCB as my full N...

Would you drive on cruise at a slower speed like 60mph on the inside lane so there's not much chance of braking, changing lanes to overtake and adjusting speed ?

For the past 15 years all my cars have had cruise control but i've never really used it on a journey. Yesterday i used it on a 10 mile stretch on the motorway but felt bit weird. I didn't feel relaxed because it felt like i wasn't in control so still had my feet resting on the accelerator and brake ...

Re: Problem with 2.7TDI Engine
Try the likes of bba reman. http://www.bba-reman.com There are other similar companies. Total failure reported on all plugs and all injectors seems a bit unlikely, so as well as ecu has anyone bothered to properly check wiring and do electrical tests? They spent 3 hrs doing wiring checks etc Maybe ...
