The cr doesn't really have any dpf problems, was mainly pd engines. My Leon is 07 and i do about 15k a year.

I meant to say sel with sport pack if that makes sense? They seem to be well spec'd up. My sport I had before was pretty basic and that's why I fancy an sel this time.

I'm suprised to hear that about your dpf, mine went on my Leon at 65k. Is yours a cr or pd engine?

I had an 2007 140 sport and I sold it for a few reasons, bought a 2007 Leon fr tdi and now I miss my passat so I'm thinking of getting a 170 sel dsg, do these suffer the dpf problems? I've had my Leon dpf deleted as it blocked, wondered if the passat is the same even though they are different engine...

Canister with 6 torx bolts on top of it and pipes coming off it, left hand side of the engine behind headlight.

Have you had your dpf removed?

The front discs aren't 345mm, R32 brakes are 345mm and you could upgrade to them if you want, they are pricey but awesome, I have them on my leon fr.

Pretty sure when I had my passat sport the front brakes were 312mm.

My 07 passat was exactly the same from the day I bought it until I sold it, never lost any power so it never bothered me, just turn ya tunes up

Mine done the same, as if the revs were jerking the car, changed this gasket on my egr and the problem was solved, my mate also done it on his 170 Leon as he had the same problem.

Part number: 028131547B

It's around £2, well worth it

If the switch goes and locks the brakes on you will need to disconnect and reconnect the battery for it to release the brakes, that's what I done to mine.

I enquired about a miltek as my mates had the de-dpf and turbo back miltek on his 170 Leon and it sounds awesome but it came at a hefty price but they don't make one for a passat.

I'm picking it up later on so ill get a video and some photos.

Car goes into Powerflow tomorrow for the de-cat and new back box fitted, I think the 170 tips look much better and I got a backbox off a 59 plate which looks brand new for £30 delivered.

Just wondering if anyone else has de-chatted there's and whats it like?

Had mine since April (07 2.0tdi 140 sport) done 9k in it and its now on 92k, injectors dne in June by VW and the only problem I have had was the failed handbrake button.

I would get a quote to retrim them first as I'd imagine it will be very expensive, I held out for a full leather interior for mine and got it down from £500 to £350 plus you would have to retrim your armrest and door cards too.

Carb cleaner will work, any cleaner will as all that goes through the egr is exhaust fumes so shouldn't cause a problem.

I took my egr off and cleaned it then fitted the gasket on the front part of the egr. If you blank the egr completely then the management light will come on but this gasket just restricts flow so the light doesn't come on. I've just paid Powerflow £190 for them to de-cat my car, remove the centre box and replace my back box with the 170hp slash tips box. I think £190 is pretty reasonable for a exhaust.
