Thanks for the feedback, just wish I had caught them in the act!! £500-800 sounds a lot less than I had expected. Get the feeling the paint might be expensive as i think its a pearlescent. Does anyone know how much people have paid to have their bumpers and side strips painted? As I would probably...

Update

All fixed by http://www.vagtech.co.uk

They fixed the brakepad warning sensor for £25 (was an intermittant connection)

Had temp sensor replaced as this was playing up just as I got there. So I got them to sort that too.

Total price £55.66 including vat

Well chuffed :D :D :D

Thanks again for the warm welcome guys, nice to speak to people who actually answer posts. I've lost count the amount of times I sign onto a forum and just get the cold shoulder from people. Glad to see this one is different.

Big thumb up from Steve

I just changed my pads on my V6TDI. They had only done 22K. Swapped mine for Ferodo's, much sharper in braking response, plus, less pad dust! ESP eats them up for you. Well the pads I took off were fine but I assumed that they had a faulty connection so just bought some more on the off chance of so...

Nope only the front have sensors, well they do on 1.8t's but I can't speak for anyone else.

I've booked into Vagtech to see if they can sort this out. I'll post an update for everyone when it's sorted so that people have a reference if they have troubles.

Yep replaced all four corners but it's only the front which have the sensors. I've checked and double checked the connections but I'll have to get a metre out and check them properly. If there is a break in the wires past the plug connector wtf will I do? Cut the wire and try and replace it? It's dr...

Do you still use the pads with the sensors when doing this conversion?

I'm thinking of ways of getting rid of my sensors.

Brake pads warning

Hi guys, just signed up great site. I have a 2001 1.8t sport and I have just changed my pads all round after my warning light came on. Now that the new pads are fitted the light is still on and I still get an annoying beep everytime I turn the key. Any Ideas that might help? Does something need rese...
