Re: Passat b6 2.0 tdi CBAB Cutting out problem
A bit late to post, ... mine had exactly same symptoms and no any other fault codes had been found. Did changing fuel pump sort out the issue?

Re: HID kits for Passat CC
It was projector (bixenon) retrofit. No levelling motors etc. Car passed 3 mot tests in 3 years without any problems. To be honest, I never used full beam as its way too powerfull on foreground vision as its xenon + full beam reflector projecting light. On m25 you could lit up Brighton, joking aside...

HiD kit into reflector lights?
You won't see further, but your light output will be more intense which in turn might make you fool yourself as if you see further.
And all dazzling to other road users. Put your tinhat on, e-net trolls will burn you down.

Www.headlightretrofits.org.uk ... do whatever mod you please. I've retrofitted my own B6 with (http://www.theretrofitsource.com/complete-retrofit-kits/universal-kits/bi-xenon-fx-r-stage-iii-kit.html#.VgPGML1wbqA) Other cheaper option would be to upgrade your standard bulbs to either Philips ExtremeV...

.Look at bigger picture. (Cheap car) + (careful owner) = ?, or (expensive car) + (careless owner) = ? ... try to rearrange those options and see the outcome which of those cars will last longer? It doesn't matter what make of car, granted few cars are posher and more tech advanced than others but pr...

Re: What engine would people recommend?
From May 2008 VW introduced CR engines, as well as revised EPB, piezzo injectors, oil pump hex key etc etc. so 2005-2008 cars are patchy, but 2008 - onwards are the ones to go for. I own 58 plated one for 2 years now, and happy with it. It's as reliable as my previous Honda Accord but oozes quality ...

Re: P2453 code or asda fuel
If not standard shell diesel, I'm not shy buying supermarket diesel. But where ever I fill it up , I always add squirt of Miller's diesel ecomax additive. My diesel engine purrs like a cat instead f clucking about and I get on average more than +2mpg. Shell nitro diesel can't match that from few exp...

You need to think this one carefully. One needs to understand the difference between projector and reflector based headlights. Each system was built and designed to specific geometry of a bulb to interact with reflector design to create light beam ahead of you. While generally reflector headlights c...

TBH , maybe its me ... I wouldn't risk saving £10 over proper Quantum LL3 oil. That saved tenner isn't going to change my life that much. Granted I will miss Kebab and pint worth of savings, but at least I won't get heart attack facing engine failure bill. You take your choices. But if you really w...

Re: Engine cut out, what could that be?
Update GreenFlag man had basic scan tool which didn't pick up any faults, while friends Delphi pointed to injector 1 and 3 loosing signal etc. I was explained that injectors had lost a signal code to ECU etc. Those injectors themselve were ganked up with dirt and carbon deposit etc. Injectors were c...

Re: Engine cut out, what could that be?
Thanks for replies, need to rearrange full scan as man didn't come today. Cambelt job was done 20months ago so that soothes it a bit. Car now is non starter, nor do I fancy turning it over if as recovery man said it was cambelt slip.
Will update once I get it scanned.

Strange this one. Was driving to work then all of a sudden car juddered and stopped engine. Tried to restart it , but it kind of whined instead of ticking over. No warning signals shown on a dashboard. Once rescue man arrived , he scanned it etc and said no faults were detected. All electrics , inje...

Re: ENGINE FAULT!
Throttle body control unit has got plastic spintype wheels. Once plastic gets fatique, some teeth can brake off and lose adjustment order or something along those lines. Once that happens, ECU gets confused about air fuel mass ratio and throws out multiple errors which can trick safety mode or take ...

Help yourself with postcode etc, in most centers they will check all wheels for alignment. Its up to you and your pocket how many wheels you want to align.

Continental sport control is (top model), while Barum bravuris (mid range model) is its copy with slightly different rubber compounds and lower pricing as a result. Good Year F1 assymetric stands the same with Fulda Sport control. With a little digging you can become savvy enough to spot right model...

Short answer, avoid 2005_2008 cars.
Go all the way with 2008onwards starting from 58plated ones. If not, you take your gambles.

Re: Recommendations for quality tyres??????
I bought Fulda sport control tyres, as those are copy of good year f1 assymetric last year's model. They 're geared towards more economy and better wear rate sacrificing a bit of grip. They were £20 or so cheaper than good year per tyre so suited my needs perfectly. So far , I can't complain about ...
