As far as I know traction control is a very basic form of ASR they operate in different ways. Traction control is easily implemented on any car with ABS by using the ABS sensors to measure wheel speed it is possible to detect a wheel breaking traction and reduce the power to the driven wheels to res...

E-bay is the place to go but from Germany. I recently bought some chrome lights for my 2002 estate, £75 all in, arrived in about a week. Only problem with them is that they don't have a seal to stop the boot filling with water. Got around this though with a few hours work. They are a good make as th...

- Topic: Reduce EGR?

No the EGR doesn't need to be connected for the MOT. It's main function is to allow exhaust gas to be admitted back into the inlet tract. The exhaust gas has a much lower oxygen content than fresh air so it dilutes the incoming air and this reduces the amount of nitrogen dioxide that the engine prod...

Diesels do not have a throttle body, When you put your foot on the accelerator this puts more fuel into the engine.Diesels run with a lot of excess air which is why putting extra fuel in makes so much difference to the power output. This is also why diesels don't need a turbo dump valve because there...

The CCM is pretty much responsible for the interior lights, Central locking, Windows etc so sounds like thats where the problem might be. Have you actually taken the carpet up and had a look?. The main cause of leaks is the pollen filter seal, not the battery drain hole getting blocked. If water has...

I strongly suspect you have something wrong with one of the calipers. Either one caliper is not providing as much pressure as the other, Possibly got some air in the system or the piston is sticking, or the one caliper is not releasing properly.Don't just replace the pads without trying to find out ...

I changed the rear discs and pads earlier this week as I suspect the discs were the originals and looked a bit worn, 92K and they were 8.5mm so were 75% worn. I found pushing the piston back to be difficult as well. You can buy specific tools for doing this but I made one instead. I found that you n...

A HID bulb is rated at 35W so it doesn't produce as much heat as a normal 55w headlight bulb.A HID bulb doesn't have a filament, It works by strikeing a plasma arc with a 25KV pulse and then maintaining the arc with around 80V.
