Re: Slave cylinder gone - Mechanic says I need to replace cl

Slave cylinder is part of the release bearing so gearbox has to come out, chances are the brake fluid May of contaminated the clutch, would be a good time to change the clutch so you don't need to pay twice to have gearbox removed if your clutch goes

Re: Radio upgrade- advice please

I've just upgraded mine in my b6 to a rns 315 from a seat, got everything I need, built in Bluetooth, sat nav, DAB, cost about £300 all in and a couple of hours to wire the mic and gps then code it in, all works on the dash as it should and really looks good as it's the same colours as the dash

Re: Air-conditioning advice - 2006 B6 2.0TFSI

Cool, you may not have to replace all the components, if the compressor is knackered as long as it ain't poo it's self and broken up you just replace the compressor and dryer

Re: Air-conditioning advice - 2006 B6 2.0TFSI

Would be worth getting someone with an air con machine to look at it, as it may just low on gas, when the system gets low it won't switch the compressor on, may just need a re gas and away you go

I had that problem on a customers car once where one of the clips were missing, get yourself some welding wire of similar thickness and using a pair of pillars bent it into shape,

Re: failed mot advice please

On the seat belt issue, if you just fold your seats down in the back, they are no longer seats and do not need belts, I am an mot tester and have seen this done many times to get around missing seat belts, the only seat you have to have in a car is the drivers seat therefor is the only seat belt you...

Mine does that while trying to park, mines auto though I've never had to touch the button, if you just blip the throttle while lifting the clutch it releases straight away,

Ring the dealers, I have replaced one one these on an Audi, don't think they are a huge amount of money but they are a pig to replace unless you remove loads of stuff, I did it without removing anything but ripped my hands and arms to shreds

Re: ABS control unit

Some do we have one that you connect to the battery and it pumps fresh fluid into the system with an on board pump, last time I did an abs pump the bleeding routine states the system has to be under 1 BAR of pressure to purge the pump correctly
