ive replaced all arms except the lower rears so i wont be buying the full kit but i think i will be replacing them as and when they are knackered

my n/s/r door lock was hit and miss and it turned out to be a broken wire in the rubber boot between the door and the pillar

never seen all german parts before do they have a good reputation
them arms they have are listed as uprated and still cheaper than euro car parts by about £10

front lower rear control arm bush replacement

i have seen a few posts about powerflex roll bar bushes but have not seen any about the front lower rear control arm bush and was wondering if anyone has used them and what they recon to them
or is it better to replace the complete arm instead with a standard one

i think to deadlock if you lock car with remote then press lock button again it deadlocks car so if someone smashes window to break in the door is unable to be opened without being unlocked with key or remote
but also check the wiring to the control box under the n/s/f footwell carpet

i had a locking prob on mine try your window on the door that doesnt work and if that doesnt work you could have some broke wires in the rubber bellow like i did as for getting door open im stuck with that one as mine opened when i pulled interior handle only thing i can think of is if you deadlocke...

howey ive done the drop links and replaced them with ones with bushes instead of balljoints
bobman no i havent changed the roll bar bushes as they are something i never even considered

since owning the passat 98 b5 i have changed the front suspension arms apart from the lower rear ones i have had a knocking noise for a bit that was mostly when hitting a pot hole/ speed bump and occasionly when slowing then accelerating sharply so put it down to lower rear arms being knackered but ...

only time i got stuck was when some numpty in a corsa ground to a halt half way up a hill
i just reversed down and went up next hill along :smile:
i was out in a transit tipper for an hour on friday that got stuck at thought of snow and i did nothing but laugh

mines doing this when heater is on a warm setting hardly anything comes out of vents but set it to cold and it blows propperly

i had my car just high enough for me to get under laid on my back and i found swearing quite a lot helped me quite a lot until i hit my head on the suspension pinch bolt then 10 minutes of non stop swearing didnt help at all

just pay someone mate im half way through doing this and wish id never started this is what ive done upto now lambda was tight but once it cracked it was ok i couldnt undo/ get to the nuts on the downpipe so i undid cat from manifold and thought i would be able to lift exhaust out through engine bay...

im fitting a new downpipe to my 98 b5 1.8t this weekend and was after some advice i will be doing it on a gravel drive with axle stands so know its going to be a bit awkward but i was wondering if there was anything that was a regular occurance when changing downpipes on these as in studs snap or yo...

right it turns out that the light in the bottom of one of the rear doors dropped out and the sister in law kept shutting the door till it closed and and after seeing the ccm fuse post im hoping it is the ccm fuse thats blown

im after part numbers for the engine front mount bracket for b3/b4 i have been told i need one to fit my abf in my mk2 golf correctly i have tried one from a diesel b4 but it has the same part number as the abf one and so doesnt sit right

cheers guys i will leave it till it dies as im sure ive read that there is one for around £80 like kenny said and another around £200 and if correct you can guarantee mine will be the expensive one :lol:
