Re: B4 estate the same as mk3 golf estate suspension?
Mk3 should fit, the rear top mounts are different but fit on the shock & the mk3 has a 10mm bolt fixing at the lower also opposed to the b4's 12mm but its workable The fronts should be a direct fit Where are you? If close enough to collect I have good standard b4tdi shocks in my scrap pile going...

airbag light removal.... get a cheap fault code reader or go on ross-tec's website (think http://www.ross-tech.com/vcds-lite/download/index.html will be suitable then when you have fault-codes http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page )& download vcds then buy an ebay vag-com / usb lead...

Not sure how practical this is, but I would be inclined to disconnect both track rods at their rack ends and try it with them disconnected just to make sure that the problem is actually related to the rack, the PAS system or even the steering column and not further on. It may be that you have a def...

If they are the ones i think..... You can withdraw the terminals from the plug (I have Bosch tools for this & if you were close etc.) & see the colours on the insulation that's usually hidden  If you look at the side of the plug that attaches to the sender there are holes above & b...

Check the fuel pump multi plug & engine multi plug (round thinggy at the back of the engine) for corrosion or secure connection, also there's a few earth connections for the motor wiring aswell as the main battery earth
