Re: anyone tried swapping passenger airbag for glovebox?
If your car has climatronic then a passat (b4 I have done) glovebox is too deep to fit, BUT big bodge and chop the back of the 'box off then fiberglass a new 'back and jobs a goodun B-) The tray underneath on glovebox equipped cars won't fit the aircon cars as the heaterbox is again in the way ...

Re: 1989 passat cl Tdi??? Surely not original engine
Ive been told theres a B3 tdi (atleast its badged as such ) in Swansea being used as an accident-training car for ambulance crews
as the tdi was available in Audi at the time I would have thought its possible in B3's as an option

golf has smaller diameter bottom bolt on rears so passat wont fit golf but golf will fit passat if you use the golf bolt. I drilled the sleeve in the golf rear coilies bottom bush to 12mm clearance & fitted them to my estate, not bouncy atall unlike what people say :???: They are fk's off a mk2...

Re: 1z tdi vacuum
Mine's the same, diesels have no throttle-butterfly so create no vacuum in the inlet manifold (hence the vacuum pump for the brake-servo) so the crankcase breather system is atmospheric as opposed to that of petrol engines
Mine is a 1Z B4 with 310,000 miles

Re: Anyone with an AAZ I have a question for you!!
Do you know what code 'box you have?
I've just striped an AAZ engined B4 estate & will have a look to see what code that is for comparison
Have a look at this list to see what 'box you have
http://www.zelek.com/diagram_Charts/diagramlist.htm
I think my 1z tdi B4 sits at 3000 @80 summit

Re: Bunny hoping passat HELP!!
As above but if the senser is a multi-wire type check that all the connectors are in the plug, sometimes people 'pull' plugs off by the wiring not the plug sometimes not undoing the clips or wire holding them on.. This can pull one of the connectors out of the plug so that when its replaced on the s...

If your car don't need the 'cat being pre '92 you can remove it but remember that cats have a good scrap value so don't throw it ;)
Also a clean air filter will help aswell as cleaning the spark plugs and maybe redex with an 'Italian tune-up' to blow out the cobwebs

Has it actually failed an mot test? Re: 2.0 8v chip. worth it??
Consider what the price of a chip or re-map would buy in other parts, a de-coke/lap in valves/service is usually cheaper if done yourself and will probably give more in terms of restored performance and economy than spending on a 'supposed' xyz BHP increase (unless done in conjunction with a rolling...
