Re: Under tray advice

Yeah, snow ripped mine off too, well only partly, did three of us on this forum the same day! It left me lying in the road, in the slush for an hour, freezing cold and ringing wet trying to remove what was left to get home, absolute PIG. It then took TWO WEEKS for the snow it rammed into my engine b...

Two more Passat into the family

Our Passat family is growing! Always been a family with VW's in it, my bro had a few old Polo's, had a B4 Passat for some years. My sister had a 2002 Golf GT TDI since it was 18 months old. So then I got my 2001, my first VW. Loved it, a few issues but we're getting on ok at the moment! Then my sist...

Re: cheap alternative to remap? "in-line tuning chip"?

I believe these are the ones that trick sensors, usually air temp or air flow type sensors into thinking the air is cooler, or more of it thus increasing fueling. Basically you run rich, which is not great. More power? Well maybe a little bit if you're lucky. The worse that can happen is you loose a...

I work my MPG out using a calculator, my actual is usually 2-4mpg behind the computer in the car. But like you say, when it's showing mid 50's anyway, and you're low 50's from a large car with a remap. I'm happy B-)

Well a tech guy at Midland VW took it for a spin. The good news is the Flywheel is fine, which i'd hoped as there are no other symptoms. Infact the whole car is fine and actually complemented it on how well it drives in all areas.... the embarrassing part is, it's my driving style  :(( L-) Ok ...

B5.5 130tdi, Vibration after re-map

Hi guys, hoping someone might be able to help me out on this! Had my 2001 tdi130 re-mapped two weeks ago, now i've noticed a vibration, i don't believe it's a result of the re-map, more something that's come to light now it has more torque. I know these things are tricky to diagnose online but i'll ...
