Re: passat b6 airbag light on

Hi thanks for the replies - the connector has already been removed by a garage previously and that fixed it for a while although looking at the wiring it was bent at a right angle so maybe that caused high resistance over time? I will see if I can get the codes cleared to see if cleaning the connect...

Hi, the airbag warning light is on our passat and had it diagnosed as the passanger seat airbag. The garage says it needs a new airbag but reading online a few people have had problems with the wiring so before getting the airbag replaced I thought I would give the connectors a bit of a clean with s...

Re: Rust on the inside of the doors!

while washing ours today I noticed the same thing - spidering and a little rust on most of the doors! the paint looks looks very thin , also noticed rust creeping out from under the plastic trim below one of the rear doors , and on the boot where the badge is the paint has lifted and started to rust...

b6 - changing rear springs

Hi the springs on the back of our b6 have snapped apparently and so need changing. how dificult is this to do as the guy in the garage said it's quite difficult? Re: Drivers Door not able to open from outside

had this on ours and as andypassat said above slamming the door etc is not the way to fix it as from my experience its the cable that is stiff. on ours if you removed the window seal from the outside of the car and shone a torch inside you could see that the handle was moving but not the cable - I r...

Re: b6 glow plug light flashes and engine fault help

never used them before as I normally do most things on my Bmw myself - the passat though has so much electronics that I thought it best to get it scanned. The guy at the garage seemed to know what he was talking about and his machine did pinpoint which relay there was a problem with but maybe he saw...

Re: new passat owner- advice please

Thanks for the reply paul and no it seems to run fine , mpg is a bit lower than I expected at just under 40 but I think that may be due to it running cold (just over 70) so need to get that sorted- I guess it's probably the stat. hopefully keeping the car for a while so just want to get it 100% , it...

normal running temp?

hi my 2005 2.0 tdi seems to be running low at 70- I presume it should run at about 90? I'm gonna keep an eye on it for the next week but what is this likely to be? I guess a temp sensor or a stuck stat ? did a 30 mile run the other day and still only got up to 70 is there any diy guides to fix this?...
