Hi guys well my ecu has got water damaged and is now scrap, I've got a 110bhp Passat rline CBCD engine. Does anyone know if Could replace the ecu with a 140 or 170bhp model? Or do they have bigger injectors m that??? Reason being is my car is remapped so I'm guna lose it when I swap ecu, just trying...

Could be many things. Some 2.0 tdi engines suffered from porous heads... possibility some water is getting in.. hence the smoke. Compression test at a garage would confirm. But meh.. im not mechanic haha That's Not good then! Do you know What engine codes have the porous head? Think mines a cbab?? ...

Keep getting a whitey grey smoke when I load it up after a few seconds of over run, if I'm on constant throttle then boost there isn't any smoke. No smoke from cold, none on idle cold or warm.

I hear tht these both use the same fuse, V157 has put eml on and has now been modified, when I google it it seems to come up with a picture of every fusebox for a Passat but none that look like mine. 2010 tdi b6.

More ££s, started removing inlet to check the manifold flap and the swirl flaps were about dead, more cost.... Only wanted a service n a few bits cleaning now im guna be looking at a £600-£700 bill, wots happened to VW reliability??

Those faults you list are not inter-related. So could be battery's on its way out -- whey out Post your Autoscan? Is it still stuck in limp mode with an EML on? IGN only on, go into each module, clear all faults, switch off, exit car, lock. Wait 10 mins to ensure car goes into sleep mode. Re-enter ...

Had it in vagcom Came up with a few codes p0480 coolant fan control circuit-electrical malfunction, p2015 intake manifold flap position sensor-implausible signal and p0562 system voltage too low. GF just gone to shops in it and glow plug light came on and it lost all power but was still ticking over...

Cheers guys, checked alternator with multi meter, dint think to check battery with engine off il do that tomorrow. Also a friend of mine has vcds and it's getting plugged in tomoz so should no abit more then

That's great. Take it there's a few control modules, any ideas which it could be, any common problems? B6 tdi wagon?

Eml came on today, plugged it into my bros comp and came up with Code P0562 system voltage too low, we wiped the fault and it came straight back on, when I started the car. We Checked the power to battery and it's good so can't be the alternator.
Any ideas or anyone have same problem?
