Re: My VR5
Yeah man. Set of wheels and a good drop totally improve the look of a car. Can't go lower really as I always have to lug a lot of gear around at weekends.

Re: My VR5
Finally back on the road. Been a labour of love this thing. Had to wait 10 days for the correct pulley to come from Germany. So, while I was waiting, I did the suspension and put the new wheels on. Totally changed the car now. Not as low as most of the cars on here, but I usually have a car full of ...

Re: My VR5
Well. Was touch and go there for a bit. The belt shredded, due to the fact someone had fitted a 5 rib alternator pulley when everything else is 6 ribbed. Right pain trying to source a new one. Now running sweet as a nut. Treated it too and fitted a new MAF as it was showing up in the fault codes. No...

Re: My VR5
She lives!!!purring away very nicely now. New alternator wil be here Monday. But the misfire hag gone. Typical VR5 issue. She now has a brand new coilpack and a new ignition control module. While it was in bits, I put new hoses on the headlamp washers too as one had nearly perished. Just need to buf...

Re: My VR5
Cheers. I love it so I'm sure I'll get it fixed up. May have to sell my new rims to fund the repairs. Coilpack was totalled. Came apart as I undid it. More expense.

Re: My VR5
So. Expensive, and still not yet fixed. Whole front end off. New belt on. Which started to shred within a few minutes on the edge. Turns out, the car has been fitted with the wrong alternator. Supposed to have 6 grooves but mine only has 5. Or something. So the pulley is thinner than the belt. So we...

Re: My VR5
Luckily I'm mates with my mechanic. He said as long as it isn't cooked, it's a fairly cheap job. He's picking it up in the morning to put a new belt on quickly and run it up to temp. So I'm keeping my fingers, and everything else crossed.

Re: My VR5
So. Not a good weekend. Coilovers arrived Friday. So all ready to get lowered. Then I got in the car to drop them over to my garage and its running lumpy as hell. Stop off at my mates workshop and he plugs in his VAGCOM. Turns out the coilpack has gone. Seems to be a common fault on the V5 engines. ...

Re: My VR5
Anyway. While the sun was out, I cleared out the drain holes under the battery. The one directly under the battery was fairly ok. The one under the brake servo was totally blocked tho. All ready now for the winter.

Re: My VR5
Well. I am confused. So, knowing I have searched the forum and found the wheels should be et35, I have been worried I had been sent the wrong wheels as they are ET42. With the painfull to the wallet option of fitting 4 spacers, probably 15mm. So, I go round my garage and try one on to see how bad th...

RS4 reps. The spoked type ones. I'm on my mobile so can't post a picture.
Will run them for a little bit till the weather gets bad then the 16"s will go back on.

Re: My VR5
Not much done. I did get some wheels ordered. Got them powdercoated and new tyres fitted, then noticed they had et42 stamped into the back of them so going to order some 15mm spacers. Rather annoyed at that. Also still waiting on my coilovers from Venom. 4 weeks now. X( Got thursday evening off, so ...

Re: My VR5
Not much to report. Still waiting on my coilovers. Expected to be here any day now. On the look out for some new wheels too. Had 18's on cars before and never really liked them, so will probably just go with 17. Much cheaper for renewing tyres, and better ride quality too. Always found 18's no be a ...

Re: My VR5
Productive day. When I got the car, I knew the brakes were shot. So a trip to Euro car parts, and I had a boot full of new discs and pads. Nice day when I woke up this morning, so spent it replacing the brakes and tarting them all up a bit. Why do people let their brakes get like this? All good thou...

Glad I found this. Similar issues with mine, so will check the fuses.
Are you guys removing the passenger seat to get to the module? Or can it be accessed with it still in place? Dread to think how bad my wiring is after reading the above posts![Crying :((](./images/smilies/20.gif)
