Drivers side dim headlight

After replacing the bulb twice the drivers side headlight is really dim, less than half the output of the passenger side. Alighnment is ok and they look bright but the output on the drivers side is shocking. I've checked and the lenses are in perfect order. It seems to have got worse over time but i...

Re: Rear window fault B6

Will do.

The doors lock and unlock just fine, but the windows or motors make no noise whatsoever.

Also wont work when operated off the autoclose/open feature on the key.

(quiet, embarrased voice)

Whats MVB?

I've swapped the switches in the drivers door with the ones off my fathers 07 B6.

It made no difference- fronts worked fine and rears refused. Rear buttons also nothing

Re: Rear window fault B6

It was a warranty job, they took care of it. The seal on the drivers side had gone and then the park distance controller went too. Behind the carpet under the boot "hinges" you'll find the conroller perfectly postioned to get wet and stay wet. Its easy to look in there you just need to rem...

Re: Nurburgring

Been about 7-8 times, a few times in my R36.

Its a belting trip but recently I have been flying to Frankfurt Hahn and getting a rental- its much cheaper.

Plenty of places to stay but I stay at the Hotel Haus Sonneck near Kelberg.

Steering rack part no please

Anyone help with a part number?

I need a new steering rack for a 2009 R36 saloon; belive I'll need a new wiring loom and some other bits too for the newer generation 3 racks.

I'm hoping to get a like for like replacment NOS rack so no coding or looms are needed to keep the costs down.

Re: Front suspension rattle

Cheers Ash! I think i'll do a spanner run and check everything for tightness and also will look at that steering UJ too. I have a spare steering column that I got given after a mate bought one just to get the R36 steering wheel that was attached to it! I can compare it for wear. I've considered that...

Re: Front suspension rattle

Just recalled i've done the dogbone too including the hockey puck mounts in the subframe.

Clunking from moving the steering wheel is very pronounced and can be felt if you put your hand on the wheel or tyre-so the cause is connected to the steering system I think.

Front suspension rattle

Only little bumps cause ot and its as if something is loose and it rattles after the bump. Its almost like scuttle shake but from the suspension area. In tr...

Re: Rear window fault B6

Autoscan wouldnt work, so scanned what I thought would be needed.

jotted down the following;

01814 002 rear left door
01813 002 rear right door
01330 004 passenger door electrics
01330 004 drivers door electrics

As a reminder the central locking on the rear doors works fine

VW dealer servicing discount

Hi, Just had my car serviced at Corkhills Southport and managed to speak to a few members of staff regarding a discount. They have got back to me with a long term offer that I think everyone can take advantage on which is 20% off both major and minor services and also £35 for an MOT. They also do s...
