Re: Bye bye R36
Think whoever done that clearly needs to stay away from cars with power, it's only got 400+ bhp but never once felt like it was way too much for the chassis, bet that was a interesting call to the insurance company

Re: Bye bye R36
Yeah diesel focus estate and she loves the thing, manual box/handbrake .......hell it's even got manual rear windows, it's like going back in time. She didn't like the dsg in the passat and refused point blank to use the paddles, so the box would always try and get into as high a gear as possible AS...

Bye bye R36
So my time with the rare R36 estate has came to a end after a brief time as the new owner took it away yesterday, I have enjoyed the looks it got for those in the now but just left me a bit underwhelmed and the wife just simply refused to drive the car in manual mode. I thought I was going to get me...

Re: Dilemma, decided that R36 will be up for sale
So the day arrived for our 4hr RS6 test drive from Aberdeen audi and the sun was splitting the skies which meant windows down to listen to the V8 twin turbo :D . The day before I had been thinking of test routes to give me a good mixture of roads, driving styles and came up with a nice blend. As we ...

Re: Dilemma
Well the prices come through for the RS4 and RS6 and let's just say golf R no more ;) . But the plot thickens with only a two hundred a month difference in these two, the RS6 doesn't really win in the looks department but more than makes up for it in the firepower department, where as the RS4 just l...

Re: Dilemma
Tourane are ok but don't really do anything for me, checked out drivethedeal.com and some of the discounts are really good, so let's see what they can do. A fully specced up 3dr golf R for me sep delivery ( wife to put up with R36) comes in at £81 quid a month cheaper through drive the deal so hope...

Re: Dilemma
Yeah still love the look of the SQ5 and would happily have another, I have just contacted our salesman at Aberdeen audi about a few different configurations on the new RS4 and RS6 , the RS6 looks killer thought in phantom black with titanium 21" alloys and all led headlamps

Re: Dilemma
Sorry dal I thought you meant bmw chassis codes, not keen on the new E63 at all, and the Q7 is just horrid as it's all out of proportion and just waaaay too big for the misses to drive

Re: Dilemma
The new m6 is stunning dal but your talking the best part of 90k plus it's a two door coupe, Aberdeen bmw had one in their showroom when they were first launched and it's properly drool worthy. The old V10 has a tremendous engine but heard that the smg box is just plain brutal plus is very temperame...

Re: Dilemma
I would love a C63 being a ex mercedes technician many moons ago but their fuel consumption does border on the rediculous compared to my previous steeds. The SQ5 was my wife's dream car and it would take something special to top it, funny you should mention the macan as we were invited to the launch...

Re: Dilemma
Not really that worried about economy as my previous cars haven't exactly been green ;) R36 passat Avg consumption 23.6 Audi SQ5 Avg consumption. 25.9 Audi B8 S4 manual Avg consumption 22.7 When we drove the RS4 over a few days I was getting 21mpg avg, the M5 was doing about the same. Having never d...

Dilemma, decided that R36 will be up for sale
So the wife finally got to drive the R36 over the weekend after giving birth to our son and it didn't go well. Over a variety of different road types /motorways/roundabouts her first comment was that it's got no bottom end grunt and I do agree with her, I tried to persuade her to use the box in manu...

Re: R36 estate carbon parts
Not really Paul when you consider it's about the same price as a miltek system, but the IPE valves system is about 3k and the frankly insane is akroprovic for the new RS4 at 6k !!!!!! Does sound very nice though

R36 estate carbon parts
Well guys I always knew getting some aftermarket goodies for my R36 estate was going to be very difficult , but I then had a wee brain wave. The passat R36 is a more common sight in japan but still a very expensive car out there so I thought I would see what I could find out there, now the rear diff...

Re: R36 focal audio components
Cheers for the positive comments guys Dub drummer I have always been concerned about water getting into the rear of the mid bass units and the next time the door trims are off I may blank of the rear of the adapters, whilst I play about with the adjustable crossovers to see what impact it has on sou...

Re: R36 focal audio components
Now the standard speakers were ok but these are simply awesome even being powered by a standard RNS510 head unit, had to play with the fader and tone settings but I am a very happy boy . Good thumping bass but would benefit from a nice side mounted sub box to hammer home those low notes ;)

R36 focal audio components
Well guys after getting some time to myself during our new borns sleep times I thought I would get the focals into the front doors. Removing the door trims was a piece of cake and soon got over vw need to rivet on the speakers, drilled out the rivets and rivited on the new adapters, drilled a hole f...

Potential new wheels
Hey guys Looking for some help as I have been offered a staggered set of my dream wheels but will need to run adapters so unsure if they will actually fit in the arches as I don't want any poke or tuck. The new wheel specs are 8.5x19 and 9.5x19 ET32 120pcd, the thinnest adapters I have found are 15m...

Re: R36 estate, now back in Scotland 28/03/14
Good choice on the 370z nismo edition bray, they do look very cool but are a 2 seat coupe. I used to know the zed inside out as I was a nissan hi tec for many years and needed to be one so the dealership could sell them. They sound very fruity with a full system and used to love taking the service r...

It truly is getting silly over here, I mean god help us if we had to actually use a strange thing at petrol stations called a airline and tyre pressure gauge to do the same thing.
