Re: Avf power distribution
I can look at the map easy enough, it does sound like it's spiking on boost if it's spinning in 3rd, I can spin mine if I try hard enough but I would have to be screaming it, I have 175bhp and 290lb ft torque but it's fairly linear in delivery. Get an MPPS lead and download the map off it, no risk ...

Did you buy the correct one as the non 130 engine have a smaller intake manifold.

Diesel is made from what?? Diesel spillage will give a rainbow puddle. I know this as I've seen enough of it split in our yard at work.Jultsu wrote:

Wish they had something similar for 5.5 saloon as to change all bulbs at the back to Cree LEDs would be a small fortune!!

Re: REMOTE WINDOWS?
Success. The ccm is now talking to VCDS again so I flashed it on Boxing Day and it worked with no issues with the dumb cable. I suspect I have damp coming through the pollen filter housing which caused this miscommunication, so that's next on the list to fix.

Re: Problem with Main Beam
Could be a wiring issue or if incorrect bulbs have ever been fitted then the projector bowls could be burnt out and need re-coating or even new/used headlights.

Re: Main Beam not working
Sounds like your shutter solenoid have packed in or there's something else at fault. If it's the former there's no off the shelf fix bar new light units unless you can source something that's comparable to the OEM shutter solenoid. Apart from that it's a case of guided fault finding I'd say.

Any recommendations on door lock module
My drivers front door lock module has stopped working as there's no puddle light, alarm doesn't cancel, no buzzer when lights are on and door open etc etc. I'm not going to buy oem as they're ghastly overpriced and it's too close to Christmas. So what I'm asking is for people's experiences on the eB...

B5.5 Lit Needle Cluster Mod
Ok this guide is for Lit needles on VDO immo 3 Clocks only. It's also at your own risk as you could potentially brick your clusters resulting in them needing specialists fixing or worse replaced!! This is what the mod is like after completion. Daytime http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w58/Gavinnice...

You don't need clocks or key but only if your willing to have the ECU de-immobilised.

Re: Anyone done lit needles mod??
I looked into this a long time ago but I bottled out in the end. It seems it's quite easy to mess the module up if the wrong byte is changed or the value isn't correct. I decided not to bother in the end. IIRC there is info out there on the net just finding it is the problem. Most of what I found w...

Anyone done lit needles mod??
Tried this out this morning but can't find much info regarding B5.5 clusters. I was looking at the guide for a MKIV but using vag commander. When I read the eprom I get a file ok but it's a bin file not a n eep?? Also when I look for the 1ED value of 30 my cluster says 0A? The MKIV's have a value of...

Re: REMOTE WINDOWS?
It's not my 409.1 cable. Turns out it's my ccm. It was connected via VCDS the other day but no longer communicates with it so new one required. It is totally dry though but has signs of previous water from some of the plugs near it. I got Motordiag working this morning on my wife's Toledo so that ru...

Xenon Range Control
Does anyone know the compatibility of 2WD and 4WD xenon range control modules? I can't find the proper part numbers and any that I've seen are all of 4WD cars and I need the other if it's at all different.
