That's not a silly question.
I don't think it is. The water I find in the car is only after rain fall.

Re: correct battery? 027 / 075 / 096??

Glad you got it sorted. The 096 will fit you just have to take off the scuttle and wiper blades really to make it easier. Thanks. Yes, they were already off as I was re-investigating the leak problem and it defo makes it easier to pull the big lump of a battery out with that scuttle trim out of the...

In this you can see where it appears to be coming from the left side of the pedals.

Thanks Dan. No it appears to be coming down more to the corner of the bulkhead as you look at it. I know we need photos, but I don't know when I will be able to take them.

Re: heated seats....headache or straight forward??

my car has them (it's a highline) and they are really lovely.

just a tip, make sure you don't do short journeys with them on as you are taking a lot of battery power to heat them and need to give the alternator a chance to put some juice back into the battery.

I've done the doors, the pollen filter and the ECU box and also applied some tiger seal around the bonnet pull cable. There is still a leak. When you are inside the car, it is coming down from somewhere high up. Because the carpet is out, all of the metal and wires are exposed. You can see it coming...

Re: double click unlock - doesnt unlock the other doors anym

Thanks for the helpful replies people.

It was due to the flat battery. Today I have had the old dead battery off and fitted a new battery and the door locks are behaving as they should (excluding the rear door which was playing up long before anyway).

Thanks for the replies. Yes I did have a flat battery which is now up and running after an overnight charge with the CTEK plugged in.

Should I disconnect and leave it off for a while?

It is. mainly as there is no carpet. :hyst I will double check to see if any water has hit the CCU unit.

It is out while I fix the leak on the drivers (ECU BOX in the scuttle) side.

well, took it to my indy who put a tester on the battery. it was giving out "410" instead of 600 something (whatever that means). he said it is knackered but the battery looks quite new so try the CTEK. Gonna try the CTEK on it for a few nights and see if it helps otherwise another wallet ...

double click unlock - doesnt unlock the other doors anymore

What is with this car? It's like a weekly work in progress! Today, I unlocked the car. First time you press the remote, the driver's door unlocks. When you quickly press it again, the other doors are meant to open. Not anymore! Just the driver's door no matter how many times or quickly you press the...

I used to remove the wiper arms and the scuttle cover. You need to be careful if trying to remove the scuttle panel as it has a habit of breaking. They are around £15-£20 from the dealers for a new one. Go for a Varta http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Varta-E38-Car-Battery-Audi-BMW-Mercedes-5-Yr-Wnty-/25...

Replacement key for my 2005 B5.5

Hello again all.

I cant find the spare key.

How easy / expensive could this be to replace? And it is a PITA to reprogramme?

My key has three buttons, lock / unlock and boot lid.

Thanks in advance as always Volks.
