Re: ICE Build

I had a fused dist block and tbh would recommend that over a solid one. I had it fused at the battery, fused and the dist block then the amps own fuses. I'd rather blow a fuse than the car up

Re: ICE Build

I think it was a 4awg kit I had from the engine to the dist block then 8awg from them to the amps. That kit should be fine :)

Re: ICE Build

Ant - not sure if you saw / heard the 2 x 12" JBL GT4 (1000w max) I had in my boot but since selling the Ssat they are sat here gathering dust. They boxed and good to go now. They do have am amp strapped to the back but I'm guessing you don't need that? PM me if you are interested? I don't want...

Re: Have i dropped a clanger?

I think the freeware versions of VAGCOM only allow you to read the codes but not reset. If you got it off ebay it's more than likely a freeware version and you paid for the wire. I wouldn't advise going to a dealre as VW want nearly £100* just to do this. You can buy fault code readers that reset f...

Re: And now, the end is near......

Yup, I came to VW from always owning fords. This has everything the passat has and more so I'm not losing anything in the way of toys. I know the dash won't feel as solid as the passat but I'd rather have a fault free car than a solid one that spits it's dummy out at me  As I say for the price ...

Re: And now, the end is near......

I've put a deposit on a 2005 Foucs Ghia 2 litre TDCi (135bhp, 251lbs/ft 6 speed box)

I got a good deal for it so it was rude to refuse. It has everything I want as a base point but it will be getting modded

Re: Anyone Know Of A Way To Find Out USB Power Consumption ???

PC USB ports are a regulated 5v 500ma output (unless tampered with) so you shouldn't have a problem if the head unit does 800ma. Dunno why it doesn't like it though.

Re: 3 years service for £17.69pm

I've just bought a ford from a dealers and one of the options I had was 2 years serviceng, 2 MOTs and 2 annual saftey checks to be taken when I want (as in before going on a long drive or in winter) for approx £290. That means the equiv prive for 3 years would be £435 and that's at a main dealers....

Trade value of a 5.5?

Well the time has come for my beloved passat to leave my grasps (and I mean it this time as I am in a position go get a new car) so I'm just wondering what the trade value of a Y plate 2001 2l Saloon on 85k is? Mechanically the car is very sound and passed an MOT in december with only a manky rear n...

Re: 31mph in a 30, Fined

Theres 2 things I have read in this thread I would take with a pinch of salt. 1 is that the offender was only doing 31 (unless you can show us the evidence) and 2 that you are 'caught' by a camera every time you spped even if you don't get a fine. As Matt said above, the cameras would never stop fla...

Re: Wet Drivers side carpet

The idea was to let the engine warm up while I cleared the snow

I don't normally use the wipers to do this as said above and usually the roof gets a brushing as well (I have a very soft bristled brush). It was totally unintentional for the wipers to run hence why it happened lol

How long till the Woodhead follows suit?

Woodhead is similar to this road and I often have loony bikers riding like idiots but I like to have a nice drive over myself when the conditions are right.
