Nokia CK7W and RCD510
So I used to have an RCD300 with a Nokia ck7 bluetooth kit. When I got a call it used to mute the radio and put bluetooth audio through the speakers. I changed and reconnected the bluwtooth to the radio. Pins 6 and 12 as the diagram I found suggested. Phone connects to bluetooth but it will not come...

Climatic control
Hello all, Managed to change to can bus last night but when taking out the climatic controls I accidentally removed both ends of the long coil for the flaps adjuster so now air only blows out towards me. I can't see where I need to reconnect it one end connects to the rear of the controls but can't ...

Re: RCD 510 Can Bus Question
How much can you get a second hand later revision gateway for? By the sounds of it you have the tools and knowledge to do the job. Could save yourself some cash by swapping and knowing the newer gateway will definitely work. You would need VCDS though to code it to your car. Sent from my iPhone usi...

RCD 510 Can Bus Question
Hello, I have spent hours looking through the internet now as I have ordered myself an RCD 510 to replace my old RCD300. I have a 2006 Plate B6 Passat and am aware that this will cause battery drain. I have just taken out my climatic controls to check and can confirm I have a revision 'C' Can Bus. N...

Re: Rcd 310 -> RCD 510
If he's already got a 310, then the canbus won't need changing. I keep hearing because it's only an 06 plate that it will need a new canbus but it does indeed already have the rcd310 so would be handy if i didn't need to change. I keep reading mixed reviews some saying the 310 has better sound qual...

Rcd 310 -> RCD 510
:roll: I have a b6 Passat with an RCD310 but I've found it all sounds well... Flat.. I've been looking at units to replace it that won't cost the earth. I can get an apparently genuine RCD510 for around £100 which looks ok. I originally started looking at the Chinese knock offs of the RNS510 but am...

Cheers, I got the same answer by trawling through youtube videos. I changes my oil and all the filters bar fuel filter as my crappy cheapo torx head rounded off so ordered a socket head hopefully of better quality.

Torx Size Fuel Filter
Hello,
A quick question I couldn't find from google but somebody is bound to know. What size torx is required to take the lid off the fuel filter.
Cheers

Re: engine worries
My money will be on the vacuum pump, the seal usually goes on these which can cause the car to start properly. the vacuum pump is connected to your diesel fuel system and its the cheapest fix. darkside performance sell the seal for £13, and it is an easy fix. be careful when you replace the seal, ...

Re: engine worries
If it was me I'd confirm it is the DMF first. The way it was confirmed for me was having my mechatronic unit done and was told the DMF is knocking on idle. So if you can hear it knocking that's confirmation enough I think. Failing that taking it into a garage and getting their advice would be anoth...

Re: engine worries
DMF cost me £600 fitted. So that's an average "Fitted" cost right there for you. I'm sure most on here will give you links to buy one and say fit yourself. If that's the case half it. £300. Thanks, I'd be willing to do it myself but not massively experienced with mechanics, I take it it...

What region of costing does the DMF typically set you back and how urgently does it need to be seen to?

Hello, I have a concern for my engine. I have the diesel 2.0 140bhp model b6 Passat. Its intermittent, and id say its worse when engine is hot but not always. Essentially, sometimes I start the engine and its really smooth, other times I get a bit of a judder through the car as it fires up. Same whe...

Hello
Hello all. I am completely new to VW, although I have always fancied one. I recently wrote my Vectra off in the snow (oopps...) and needed to get a new motor and settled on the B6 Passat (06 Saloon 2.0 TDI 140BHP). I must say so far I am really enjoying it, it all feels much more refined than my Vec...

Fitting Aux RCD300 Passat B6
Hello, Firstly - I THINK i have the RCD300 head unit in my Passat B6. I have googled RCD300 and it looks just like the images that come up. The top left button is Mix as apposed to load so I'm almost sure its not the RCD500. I have looked around and seen a few suggestions for fitting aux to the B6 P...
