Re: few problems need help

Brake switch would be my first port of call. When ours went the car went absolutely mental.

Have a look in the 'How To' section for a run down on replacement. The part is cheap enough, but the installation is a little tricky. I broke one when installing and had to order another.

Have fun!

Re: Umbrella

Sheet!! I thought it was a handy weed stash :D Seriously though, should the new car have come with an umbrella in there? Or was the aperture created just to sell us an umbrella? I remember my E30 BMW had a torch in the glove box, be like BMW putting a torch charger in there and then selling us a tor...

Re: Passat Number 4 - B6 on air

Not a lot happened of recent. The car went in for a bit of a winter protection by a local detailer, at which point we decided a bit of paint is well over due. Mainly the bonnet  It looks like it has done a loop of the M25 behind a gravel wagon. So a kitty has been started for that little expen...

Re: Electronic Parking Brake Failure

This seems to be quite a common weak point on the B6. I have read a few reset methods, but cannot recite them from memory though.

I am pretty sure there is a 'quick fix' involving a 10mm spanner

Re: Aud Wheels: Straight Fit?

As far as PCD and centre bore goes they are a straight fit. Just watch the ET though as some Audi wheels have a high ET, and you may have to run spacers.

Those in the link are ET40, so they would be a straight fit.

Good luck,

There was a B6 in the states that had an awesome setup, not dissimilar to that one. And if my memory serves me correctly they were available as a kit from the States too.

Does the brake release at all?

I know the switches are prone failing, as we carry a spare switch in our 'B6 Emergency' pack B)

I do find it funny sometimes that UKP is treated like an on-line Haynes manual. It probably happens more than we know, what with Google searches ect. As stated a lot of the solutions to problems on here are because one person has had that problem, solved it and then reported it on here to allow othe...

Re: turn b4 estate into 8 seater?

I know an optional extra on the B3 was having an extra row of rearward facing seats in the boot. Thus creating a 7 seater.

I have never seen one though, but there are a few of them come up on German Ebay.

Not sure how this translates to your original question though :D

Re: B3 dash speakers!

I had some Alpine components, I think they are 17.5cm mids with 2.5cm tweeters. The tweeters have various mounts to choose from. There was one that was a perfect fit. It is like a lollipop stick either side of a round mount which the tweeter sits in, and just screw the mount where the original speak...
