Re: LED sidelights & Grille lights

I have the LEDs from Halfords. Been on ages now. Only thing is, make sure they both work before you refit the light as theyre polarity conscious.
Id put one in the wrong way and it wouldnt work! Took headlight out again (I have the Xenons so easier) and sorted it.

Re: EBC Pads. Low pad wire?

I spoke to a specialist. He said they mostly have one per side, but if I wanted to fir these pads, that to just cut the old 'pad' wire at the pad and it should be fine. :)

Re: EBC Pads. Low pad wire?

RIght guys, SOMEONE who's changed the pads must know if the cars have ONE pad with the wire or two? Just been doing some research and it appears the Golfs (and therefore every other car on the list!) has a wire on the front passengers side... http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/p/232187/1494722.aspx" on...

EBC Pads. Low pad wire?

I just got my new EBC Green Stuff pads today to go on the 312mm disc convertion. Unwrapped the box and only one of the pads has a wire on. Is this normal? Two have the srping thing on the back, but only one has a wire. I havent checked, but I think BOTH my fornt calipers have a wire on the pads.... ...

Can i hi-jack with a few questions? Am i right in thinking my non drive by wire '98 1.8t doesn't have an N75 valve? I was also wondering how an induction kit would work regarding the intercooler? (like this http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/Performance/Air_Filters_&_Accessories/K&N_Filters_57i_...

Re: hi new here, need tea and sympathy lol plese read

Bad times! I seriously HATE main dealers. Only ever had BAD experiences when Ive had to deal with them for company cars (since 1994, my own cars have all been too old to warrant MD treatment LOL!) Find yourself a good specialist I reckon once its out of warranty (assuming its not?) Whats the age and...

Mine shows signs of having weeped from the oil filter/cooler housing. But doesnt lose any water now, so Im not worried and not interested in clearing the 'mess' that remains around the housing for fear of disturbing the cure LOL :D!

Re: Needed - Brake assemby torque settings

No idea, but I gotta do mine this week/next. To be honest, Im thinking its gonna be a right PITA to get a torque wrench in there! ALso, can you tell me what size hex the mounting brackets(carriers) are held onto the hub with front and back? Went to do the rears the other day and theyve only gone and...

Re: B5 1.8T Mods

Jimmy, if you think its running lean then dont use max boost at all and it might be advisable to fit some cooler plugs.

The higher the number, the cooler they are.

Re: Fuel and temp gauge died, fuses ok...

In my line of work 'B' is positive (and it looks to be the same on these friggin Vdubs!)

Short to + would give you max voltage= Full tank.

Thats what I reckon. :)

Re: Uprated pads for std discs?

Well, scratch that! Managed to sort out sourcing all the bits a bit cheaper than I had originally expected, so Ive gone the 312mm route :) Rears worked out more expensive though, as I went for OEM (Pagid) kit from ECP. Came in at nearly £60 just for the rears! Fronts, I got some half decent...

Well, checked the card, checked the fuses and one of thems popped! RESULT! Put in a spare and it works, so Im putting it down to a freak as they seem to work fine. ALso, the fuse was only just broken, I had to look real close to spot it was blown. THanks for all the input. You never know, it might h...

Re: Staggered rims on a 4wd?

If you put different sizes on I think youre asking for trouble tbh.

Any difference in the gearing will wear the transmission out sooner.

Re: Staggered rims on a 4wd?

You need to stick the same size rubber on front and back and the same stretch. However, you can get away with different offsets front and back as far as I know.
