Re: Fitting/Running Merc Wheels - Advice

What wheels are they? I had AMG splitties (as per the pic) and struggled to get wheel bolts, as they were different from what the monoblocks needed.

Also, just look at the wheels to see if they have radius' seats or tapered. Its that easy :)

Re: Have I bought the wrong car

I like my 1.8T. Coming from high power 2LTurbo Nissans, the boost is quite gentle in comparison, but its still got enough grunt to pull you out of a bend when youre feeling in the mood a bit. You can, of course, boost them. But you have to remember that these turbos are different to the old school T...

Re: Convenience unit fuse

So yesterday, popped round the corner and lo and behold, when I get there and lock the car, the alarm starts throwing a hissy fit, the boot wont open and I later saw the interior lights arent working (at all, not just on the doors opening) oh and the E windows wont work. Central locking? Nah, thats ...

Re: Intermittent colant loss??

Ah, sorry, I just read the first couple of lines DOH!

Hmmmmm, well the AC makes the engine run hotter, so it may have a cooling issue.

Re: Intermittent colant loss??

Its not coolant. Its the AC doing its thing and the resulting fluid loss is condensation.

Its natural and most (all) AC systems do it.

Problem with cig lighter

Popped in to see my mum yesterday and see how she's getting on with her newly aquired B5.5 Highline :) Other than not getting as many mpg as the Octavia TDi its replaced, she's happy. But the cigarette lighter keeps blowing the fuse. Front and Rear (passenger). Tried lots of different chargers etc, ...

Re: Oil warning light

I had an issue with the light coming on last year. Topped it up and it was OK. What I couldnt work out was that there seemed to be enough oil according to the dipstick. Turned out the dipstick guide thingy was cracked and allowing the dipstick to sit further in the sump than it should, giving me the...

Re: Wheel bolt Advise

Bolts can be a right PITA. It took me about 3 attempts to get the Merc wheels in my sig on. WHat with having to drill the rear holes out (the fronts went on), then the bolts were massively too short (the OZ AMGs are a lot thicker than std AMGs) and then the bolts I ordered didnt come through.... Wit...

Re: Wheel bolt Advise

Im no B4 man (heck, only jus getting to grips with the B5 lol!) so I dont know what wheels fit. Have a read through the threads on here and other sites about fitment. If the fitment is right (PCD, offsets, widths, diameter etc) then the only other problem is the fixing. i.e. THe bolts might not be l...

I dont knwo how the VW AC works, so cant say if its normal or not.

If it aint broke....

Right, my engine ia an APU and when I had the trouble with mine, they tried to tell me I had the wrong dipstick and sell me another  The one they then sold me was MASSIVELY too long in the handle bit and would not have allowed me to shut the bonnet as it stuck up over the bonnet line. Re: Bad luck i flooded the engine :( Kermit is dead

You may find your insurance covers you for that kind of damage. I know of guys that have had new engines hen they went hydraulic by running in water.

Worth checking?
