Hi
Probably in the wrong section....
Anyone using the above for fault codes? Sure its not the 'full-fat/all-singing' type but could be a good starting point......
AutoExpress seem to review it well for £20 and reading codes/turning of dash lights etc.

Re: Replacing car battery
Hi
I use a fire alarm back-up battery (these should be replaced every 3 years apparently) plenty of life in it to 'piggy-back' temporarily.
L
PS - I didnt get a code for the wireless when acquired the car - VW want extort to provide the 4-digits.

Re: What does this parking restriction mean ?
Hi
Those letters refer to the area the Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) applies to/in - eg a particular area within a City/Town or suburb.
The letters will be on permits issued to the vehicle so cars without the relevant permit for that area will be ticketed.

Hiya Chillout1983
Interesting to say the least - TPS, locally, wont do other than if you have a Trade Account now (and then Garages only...) - may I ask how long ago and which part of the country as obviously the (need for an account) things can be interpreted differently?

Hiya All I am investigating the above and have come across the usual suspects (Bosch, Dayco, Febi-Bilstein, SKF, Gates and Contitech), all from Autodoc. Which to avoid and preference based on personal experiences please? There are others, but then the price doubles (circa £120 to double!),from names...

Hiya My Haldex unit is a Gen4 and I got the necessary from: https://www.darksidedevelopments.co.uk/products/genuine-audi-high-performance-oil-for-haldex-coupling-g-055-175-a2.html. Perhaps use these to check what they advise and then do a trawl for the best price.......... L PS - If you can get the ...

Good eventide Gazwould
Appreciate such a swift reply - thank you!
Autodoc do the Ferodo Eco-Friction and Brembo (Coated Disc Line - whatever that is) for less than ECP (far as I worked out!) so ordered.

Hiya
I gave the seriel number from my Haldex unit and let the Haldex Repair folk advise and bought the bits from them.
Probably a bit more expensive but I didnt want to start the service and find something amiss......

Brake Discs & Pads - CFFB?
Hiya All Trust all keeping safe and well. Front pads and discs need replacing in the summer, so trying to get sorted in advance for the necessary bits....... ECP are doing the usual 45% off (maybe 60% nearer Easter) and Autodoc doing 25% off so same ballpark in cost. Autodoc seems to have more optio...

Re: Temperature on dash not hitting 90
Hi Interesting as I have found that my temp guage also doesnt hit 90, not even half-way when freezing/low single digits. Perfectly fine when temp is over 10-12degC. Thermostat was changed about 18mths ago for a genuine VW one.... The 'secondary' stat (that sits above gearbox I recall) has never been...

Hiya All With upcoming New Year, the DSG box is approaching 80k on the clock so, if I recall correctly, due to have the fluid changed. Hi Gazwould
Interesting that you use this in addition to the 2-Stroke oil............how long have you been running the mix and what improvements/change have you found?
In your opinion, mix only for older (?) vehicles or newer too?
Would appreciate a link to the 5l for £32 please?
Danke

Hi Haldex coupling is usually 4wd associated, so unless yours is 4wd......... Re: When to leave the dealer and go independent
Hi As gtijames says look out a local independent, better option going forward too when you need them, otherwise costs at VW cause friction. Genuine parts were available from TPS at Trade prices, that seemed to have changed last summer - maybe someone can update including what they (TPS) require to o...

B6 or B7 - What is it?
Hi
I have a 2012 Panzer, 103Kw, engine code (I think) CFFB. The B6 page gives engine codes but the B7 not.
Local Dealer says (on giving my reg. no.) no such thing as B6/B7 as they use 'chasis numbers'.....mine is a 3C chasis.
So what do I have a B6, B7 or a 3C please?
Cheers

Hi
Thank you for your replies -
Have to stick with the back ones (Contiseal) as changed these last year, so will have to be a non-Continental brand of same (goo inside).
Mrderv - suggestions for equivalent (goo inside) non-Contiseals?

Hi
I had to change one of the TPM Sensors after a tyre change - seems it was knocked causing damage.
Note my TPM system is the non-realtime version - ie standard rubber valves.
