Re: Clutch Replacement for 2006, 2.0TDI, Front Drive BKP engine
LOL yeah well I gave the bench pressing option a miss. I managed to jack up then hold from top with rope, twist it into postion, then used my legs to push it onto then engine block. I have the clutch in now. The gear change's are all good but car not going well. I had oil sensor message come up and ...

Re: Removal / Replacement of Gear Driven Oil Pump 2.0 tdi BKP
Hi I am just a beginner and there are a lot more experienced people on here. In my case I had a 2006 manual, 2.0tdi engine BKP. Not sure if you have the same balance shafts that I have. I was told to change oil sensor and oil, which I did. The warning came back on. I did not bother but there is a to...

Re: Clutch Replacement for 2006, 2.0TDI, Front Drive BKP engine
Hi,
Does anyone have the torque settings for putting the bolts back on for the clutch?
I was hoping to start the job this week if I can.
I managed to make my engine hoist.
Cheers

Re: Clutch Replacement for 2006, 2.0TDI, Front Drive BKP engine
Jasimog, That's great cheers. My car is the estate, not sure why that would restrict the choice of clutch and dmf though. I was planning on using the engine support from above and I am making a wooden adapter to go on the trolley jack as well (as the wood is sitting here). One last question if you g...

Re: Clutch Replacement for 2006, 2.0TDI, Front Drive BKP engine
hi, Thanks. Great the sharan similar and can use video. I am presently fabricating my own engine support as shown here: http://bernardembden.com/xjs/enginesupport/index.htm (As I have the wood sitting around.) I looked at the Mister Auto site but I was surprised at the cost of the Clutch and DMF com...

Clutch Replacement for 2006, 2.0TDI, Front Drive BKP engine
Just as I was starting to enjoy life for a few weeks after my proud completion of the balance shaft upgrade, then my clutch has collapsed. :(( Is this the best set of instructions for a 2006 Passat Estate B6, 2.0tdi, front drive, BKP engine clutch/ dual mass flywheel replacement or does anyone know ...

Re: Removal / Replacement of Gear Driven Oil Pump 2.0 tdi BKP
DMitch16 I took this from another thread you posted on. Do these part numbers match up for my , Passat 2.0 tdi BKP? "For the K revision (77mm long follower key) there is a 5, 1, 1, 1 configuration with 4 different bolt part numbers as below. N 10601402 x 5 N 90977502 x 1 N 91104601 x 1 N 911234...

Re: Removal / Replacement of Gear Driven Oil Pump 2.0 tdi BKP
Update: Engine in TDC. I took a few short cuts so we will see how that turns out. Balance shaft unit off. If I was doing it again I would "crack" all the bolts for splitting the Balance Shaft unit as well, before I took the whole unit of the car. I don't have a large vice so once off, I ha...

Hi
Yes I agree short cuts for those that know what they are doing.

Re: Removal / Replacement of Gear Driven Oil Pump 2.0 tdi BKP
I may have picked KMB up wrong but I think what he was saying is that if you lock the shafts in the position they are in now before you take off the balancer oil unit they are then in the correct position to put the unit straight back on when you have changed over the balance driver shaft and hex ke...

Re: 1.9 diesel BKP - Location of Oil Pressure Switch
I have not noted all that cheers. Just my first time trying anything really mechanical actually, as the quoted cost of the fix from the garage would make car uneconomical to repair. I tell myself I am using it as a learning experience so that I don't get too frustrated. Thanks for all the pointers a...

Re: 1.9 diesel BKP - Location of Oil Pressure Switch
Yes I know , I was getting different advice from different sources. I was told to do new sensor and flush out the old oil to see if that cleaned out any blockages before taking on the big jobs. Only went a few meter up the road and im guessing that the oil pressure is down but no entirely off, so so...

Re: Removal / Replacement of Gear Driven Oil Pump 2.0 tdi BKP
Thanks. KMB were really helpful on the phone . There is even a way to lock the balance shafts in place (with the KMB balance shaft lock) before you take off the oil pump / balance shaft unit, and so miss out all the TDC / belt steps. I might have messed that up though by trying to take one of the ge...

Re: 1.9 diesel BKP - Location of Oil Pressure Switch
Thanks for replies. Yes the 2.0 tdi BKP version. Yes the oil pressure sensor on right hand side low down below some large black rubber pipes. Once it was "cracked" then it came off with fingers. New oil pressure sensor back on with same warning after a few meters up the road. Flushed the e...

Re: Removal / Replacement of Gear Driven Oil Pump 2.0 tdi BKP
Thanks for your reply,
So the whole balancer unit has to come off to get the oil pump off !
That is just amazing, crazy engineering. Anyway thanks for reply as hopefully going in the right direction now.
Cheers

Removal / Replacement of Gear Driven Oil Pump 2.0 tdi BKP
hi, I am trying to change the oil pump on my 2.0 TDI BKP. The oil pump is gear driven and so does not have the chain and sprocket. Does anyone know how this oil pump comes off? I took out the three holding bolts but the pump did not come off (some movement though). I understand that the balance shaf...

1.9 diesel BKP - Location of Oil Pressure Switch
Newbie here, can anyone suggest where the location of the oil pressure switch (sensor?) is on my 1.9 diesel Passat estate 2006? My low oil pressure light is on and I want to change the switch first in case it is faulty. I can't seem to see it anywhere so I am guessing it is down below somewhere. che...
