that was the second time the wife has ran out of fuel in the bus. ( 52 plate passat sport 130 tdi) First time the needle was just above the red and this time it ran out on quarter full mark, reading 80 miles to empty on trip computer... hmmmm any ideas, whats wrong, or should i get a new fuel sende...

Dodgy fuel guage
that was the second time the wife has ran out of fuel in the bus. ( 52 plate passat sport 130 tdi) First time the needle was just above the red and this time it ran out on quarter full mark, reading 80 miles to empty on trip computer... hmmmm any ideas, whats wrong, or should i get a new fuel sender...

Kristian,knowing how you and your other half drive at times I'd reckon high 30's is going to be the best you'll get from the autobox Passat,130's aren't as good on fuel as the older engined cars but are far better performers 8) 8) I only manage around 44 with my manual box car.....In saying that it...

as title says, only pulling around 35-37mpg max, its a 1.9tdipd 130 tiptronic estate, tried fitting a new airflow meter from dealer, no change.
