My dashboard buzzes at around 1200 to about 1400 revs. It’s the silver trim piece that runs above the radio and around the clocks rattling because it goes away when you put your finger on it. Anyone any fixes I’ve been ignoring it 3 years now but I’m driving 1400 miles a month so fixing it would be ...

A diesel soaked rag in an engine bay sounds like a dangerous fire risk to me.

Yup because of COVID I’m doing all short journeys of a few miles and I’m getting less than 500 miles to a tank. Normally I can get 650 plus miles. 2.0 140 tdi saloon. Have my winter wheels with winter tyres on again probably doesn’t help mpg either.

Take a wheel off and see if you can find a sticker or part numbers stamped on the shock. My oe non adjustable shocks have a Sachs sticker and part numbers.

If the are electrically adjustable they will have wires running to them.

They will sit a little further into the arch than your 18 inch wheels but the will fit fine. Use willtheyfit.com to find out which tyre size will match you 18s.

What size tyres do you currently have.

Is 2t oil dpf safe

I just checked there mine is the same. If I hit the lock button after I close the boot it locks. I’ll just remember to lock it again after.

The top mount will spin and the whole strut below it or else the car wouldn’t be able to steer. I always fit spring with the writing correct way up.

Can you not change it to unlock all doors in the multi function display. Off the top of my head I think it’s under convenience

I know someone got 2 wings for their r32 golf painted and posted for £200 from lothian auto parts uk on ebay. Apparently you can even send them your fuel filler cap to colour match the paint. They fitted ok too only 1 hole needed to be slightly ovaled to fit.

It takes literally 2 seconds to pop them out.

I had ones from car shades in my b7 saloon and the side ones were fine but the rear screen fell down alot. They might work better in an estate as the window isn't so slanted.

I'd be looking at the clock spring in the steering wheel

I'm not familiar with the b5 shocks but would you not just need the correct size swan neck spanner and either a spanner or Allen key to hold the shaft.

In the picture of the B6 you posted I think those wheels are a different fitment. I think et32 would sit pretty much equal with the arch it might slightly poke past.
